When you look out of the window and all you see are dull brown trees and a slate grey sky, you need to look again. Look more closely and appreciate the myriad of colours that make up the most common place objects. You will see that tree is far from dull; the bark is made up of a rainbow of colours from pinks to greens and turquoise to terracotta. “Where are you going with this?”, I hear you cry. I am

taking you to the land of tweed.

Study an Irish or Scottish tweed jacket and you will see a cacophony of colours that make up that “green” or “blue” coat. When I reach into my Winter wardrobe I

appreciate the glory of tweed and am cheered by the sight of it. Nobody has come up with a better way to keep a man warm.

It did not escape my notice that it is virtually impossible to buy an off-the-peg three piece tweed suit these days so I have rectified this on pages 12 - 15. Don’t hold back,

life’s too short, cheer yourself with glorious tweed for colours that last a lifetime.
