Think Your Pet’s Teeth are Fine? Think Again! Statistics have shown that 8 out of 10 dogs and 7 out of 10 cats show signs of oral disease by age 3.

Periodontal disease results when residual food, bacteria and tartar collect in the spaces between the gum and tooth, causing infection that spreads to the bone.

It makes better economic sense to get regular dental cleanings than to have to pay for treating dental-related disease. Signs of dental disease to look for include red swollen gums or brownish-

yellow tartar on teeth, bad breath, bleeding from the mouth, reluctance to eat and frequent pawing or rubbing at the face and/or mouth. Make your appointment TODAY for a dental cleaning in February and save 20%.

2017 Year in Review:Fosters, Families, FUN! What a year it was! In addition to providing expert veterinary care, boarding, grooming, training and love to thousands of pets, our staff did a whole lot more! Throughout the year, we got involved with our local community in a variety of ways. We played host to many Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and School Groups, who all wanted to learn about what we do.

Along with the adoption events we hosted at the clinic, we also planned and participated in outside events to help raise awareness and funds for our deserving rescue partners. The foster program at the clinic was also a huge success! Through that program, we provide housing and care on a regular basis for a few rescue animals at a time as well as assist the rescues with the adoption process. This year it amounted to nearly 100 animals! The goal is to help the overwhelmed rescues whose shelters, volunteers and fosters are constantly overflowing with animals looking for

their forever homes. Having another location for possible adopter families to visit the animals and having these loving professionals looking after these pets makes things that much easier for the rescue group and the volunteers.

To find out about all of our events and animals available for adoption, follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and you’ll be the first to know! If you have a scout or school group interested in taking a tour, please send an email to [email protected].

Meet the New Additions!A baby shower was hosted at the clinic for two of our wonderful staff members who were both blessed to welcome baby girls to their families in 2017!

Veterinary Technician, Ali Janik has been doting on her daughter, Ava Laurene since her birth on December 5th. Their 2 dogs are also in love with her, Pax looks particularly protective here!

Dr. Laabs and her husband couldn’t be happier to have been able to celebrate the holidays with their beautiful daughter, Ivy Taylor who was born just before Thanksgiving.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW: From Fosters to FamiliesSylvia, adopted by the Hill Family from Chicagoland Eskie RescueSylvia came into our home like she had lived there forever. She found her bed and food bowl, and hasn’t skipped a beat since arriving. She has her routine... wake up, go outside, eat, sleep and repeat at night. She is VERY vocal—she’ll tell you when she needs to go out and when she’s hungry (about 99% of the time). She’s quite the character!

We lost our feisty, live by your own rules heart and soul dog, Shirley, 6 months ago from old age and our home was boring without her. Sylvia brought back that craziness—nothing beats those old snarky girls! Sylvia makes me laugh and smile everyday and solidifies my love for old dogs!
