    season was thefifth annual PCSShowcase, duringwhich the threenetwork varsityteams played around-robinevent.

    PerspectivesLeadership Acad-emy/High School

    of Technologydefeated the visit-ing teams from

    the IIT Math &Science Academyand Rodney D.Joslin campusesOct. 16 to claim theShowcase cham-

    pionship. eShowcase also in-cluded combinedSenior Nightfestivities for thethree teams 22

    seniors becauseMSA and Joslindo not have their

    own gyms.

    It was a greatopportunity toshowcase theachievementsof our volleyballteams across thenetwork, Per-spectives AthleticDirector VinayMullick said. It

    displayed thehard work of ourstudent-athletes

    and coaches.

    It also was aunique experi-ence to combinethe senior nights.

    I think everyoneenjoyed it, and ithelped build ca-maraderie acrossthe network,which is nice.

    other finishingthe races, regard-less of place.

    Perspectives/IIT Math & Science Academystarted slowly but finished strong,winning the PCS Middle School FlagFootball League championship. MichaelHooker and omas Oscar, both 8th-graders, were among the team leaders.

    Head coach Jesse Hardy called his teama wonderful group of young men. Improud to have coached them.

    e Joslin Middle School team was madeup mostly of 6th- and 7th-graders butenjoyed an undefeated regular season.

    e few 8th-graders we had did a greatjob of being leaders and vocal, facilitatingand guiding our young players on the

    field, head coach Tiray Jackson said.

    ose 8th-graders included RaKwonRoberts, Karson Heins, Joshua Yeo andLashaun Banner. Seventh-grader RobertJeffries and 6th-grader Kimmon Watsonwere among other contributors.

    e Perspectives Middle Academyteam finished 4-6 under head coachRon McBride. Top players included 8th-

    graders Emmanuel Gipson and TylerDanzy.

    e MSA 8th-grade volleyballteam enjoyewd afine 6-3-1 seasonthat included

    a second-pacefinish in its owntournament. e6th-/7th-gradeteam was 4-6.

    Back of the Yards,and senior cap-tain Edgar DelToro, who scoredat least one goal in

    each of the teamslast four games.

    Other contribu-tors included sen-ior Andre Adamsand sophomoreRaphael Hutchins.

    Our goal nextseason is to main-tain the core ofour team so thatwe can improveour fundamen-tals and end ourseason with awinning record,Borre said.

    promising. Joneswill have about 15seniors enteringtheir fourth sea-sons in the footballprogram. is fallonly four of his 14seniors had thatmuch experience.

    Perspectives alsowill continue togain the benefits ofstrong sophomoreand freshmanteams. e sopho-mores, under head

    coach Randle Wil-liams, finished 4-2.

    e freshmen,under Jason Wise,were undefeatedin their conferencegames and posteda tie with pow-

    erhouse Simeon,which Jones saidhas usually routedthem in the past.More freshmen, headded, are arriv-ing at Perspectiveswith experience inthe CPS elementaryschools footballprogram.

    e future looksbright, Jones said.Were eager toget out there andcompete.

    the field whilerepresenting theirschool.
