our people make the differenceDear Friends,

As the general manager of EnergyUnited Propane, I’m

the guy who is ultimately respon-sible for the satisfaction of every one of our customers. But, clearly, I’m not the one who actually makes that happen.

This really hit home the day I drove along with Jamie Ferrell while he made deliveries in Badin Lake. When Jamie and I arrived at one house, the homeowner came out with a look of concern on his face. He was afraid I was taking over Jamie’s route. He let me know in no uncertain terms how unhappy he would be if Jamie no longer made his deliveries.

This is not an unusual thing for me to hear. I regularly get calls or emails

about something our employees did for our customers that impressed them, made them smile or helped them out of a tough situation.

Propane is a great, versatile fuel for heating things. But it

can’t take care of you. That’s our job.

And fortunately, we have some terrific people, like Jamie, who want nothing

more than to have you feel good about EnergyUnited Propane.

Warmly,

Jeff Ruffner General Manager

Q: What kind of fuel purchase options are you offering this year?

A: We offer more choices than most fuel dealers. We want to give you flexibility to choose the approach that works best for you.

Most of our customers feel best about our regular market rate because it allows their price to float up and down with the market. It feels less risky and complicated to them.

However, we do have programs for customers who prefer to lock in a rate, including our pre-buy program. Just remember that if you choose to lock in your rate, we cannot change it during the lock in period, because we will already have secured your fuel supply at that price.

If you want to find out more about our pricing programs, please call or email us.

Every year it seems as if we have to cope with devastating storms that knock out power to millions of people. And once your power goes off, you never know just how long it will be before you get it back. If this is the “new normal,” it’s time to take action to protect your home and your family.

With a propane whole-house generator, you don’t have to worry. When you lose power, your generator will ensure that your lights stay on, your air conditioning or furnace keeps

running, the food in your refrigerator stays cold and essential medical equipment stays operational. You’ll have a reliable on-site source of power to help you get through the damaging effects of extreme weather until the utility trucks get the lines repaired.

Propane whole-house generators are a much better and safer option than small, portable gasoline-powered generators. These are not powerful enough to run your home’s major energy-reliant systems, and they will also release noxious, even hazardous, fumes.

it’s not just a generator — it’s peace of mind

PROPANE: from INSIDE and OUTEndless hot waterIf your home and family require lots of hot water, you’ll be thrilled with the options you get with propane water heating. Not only will you have all of the hot water you need, you’ll get it for much less than you would if you heated your water with electricity. You can save even more by installing a high-efficiency tankless propane water heater.

Grill it upPropane grills light instantly, heat faster than

charcoal, and emit less carbon monoxide and soot. They make your food taste better

too! For convenience’s sake, higher-end grills offer drawers, side burners, surface lighting

and LED temperature displays.

Swim it upWhether you have an above-ground

pool, an in-ground pool or a spa, a propane pool heater will warm your water much

faster — and at a lower cost — than an inefficient electric heater.

Warm it upTake the chill out of the air with

portable heaters and outdoor fireplaces, which can raise outdoor temperatures

by as much as 30 degrees. They’re great for prolonging your

outdoor entertaining season!

Cook like a proIf you love to cook, you will love a gas stove. Gas gives you much better temperature control and heat distribution than electricity. In addition, gas cooking appliances — cooktops, ranges and ovens — are available in the latest styles, including commercial-grade stainless steel.

Bask in ambianceWith a propane fireplace, there’s more heat without the work and fuss. Light your fire with the flip of a switch and then enjoy the incredible atmosphere of today’s log sets and realistic flames.

safety tips for the grilling seasonn Use your grill only in well-ventilated areas — never

inside a garage or covered patio. Your grill should also be placed away from any low-hanging tree branches.

n Make sure the grill is clean, in order to prevent flare-ups. Also check hoses for kinks or any deterioration.

n Keep the cover open until you are sure the grill is lit —even if you have an electronic ignition.

n When you’re finished, make sure to turn off the burner control and close the cylinder valve.

n Propane cylinders should always be kept in an upright (vertical) position when stored or transported.

n When refilling or replacing your tank, transport it in a well-ventilated or air-conditioned area of your vehicle — not the trunk — and bring it home immediately.

n When taking your tank to be refilled, check for dents, rust or leaks.

n Always store propane cylinders outdoors — not in a garage or shed.

We have always taken pride in delivering a safe, reliable and highly efficient fuel to our customers. Here’s a look at the many ways propane can enhance your

lifestyle, make you comfortable and save you money — from inside and out.

People are taking cooking to new levels by adding cooktops, ovens, and rotisseries to their deck or patio.

Many propane pool heaters include sensors that shut off the unit if water temperatures rise above preset limits.

Most portable heaters immedi-ately shut down if they get knocked over.

The most efficient stoves have an automatic electric-ignition system, which saves propane because the pilot light is not burning continuously.

The $300 federal tax credit for high-efficiency gas-fired water heaters has been reinstated for 2013!

Propane gas fireplaces can produce twice as much heat as wood-burning fireplaces at about a third of the cost. And there’s no soot, ash or smoke.

grilling made easy—and more affordableHave you ever run out of propane right in the middle of a backyard cookout? Are you tired of running back and forth to get your barbecue cylinder refilled?

Then ask us to install a direct-line hookup to your household propane tank. In fact,

you’ll save money because the price of the propane for your home use is cheaper than you pay for a

cylinder. And if you do this now, we’ll give you a 50% discount on the direct-line hookup. So there’s no reason to wait. Call or email us today to request your appointment!

Unlike so many other large propane companies, EnergyUnited is based entirely in the Carolinas.

That means the people who work here are your neighbors and the money you spend with us stays within our communities. When you call us for service, you will always reach a service representative who is familiar with our area, not someone from out of state.

And if you do have a problem with anything, you’ll speak to someone who understands how folks around here think, and we will address your issues with the immediacy they deserve. That’s reliable neighbor-hood service. That’s Carolina Proud.

Q : I’m on automatic delivery. Do you always have to fill my tank?

A : We typically fill the tanks of automatic delivery customers because it’s the best way to accurately predict

when the next delivery will be needed; it also allows us to keep your price lower by improving the efficiency of our deliveries.

Some customers request partial deliveries because they don’t have the money to easily pay for a fill-up. A better solution is our Smart Buy program. Instead of paying for each delivery as you receive it, you can spread your annual fuel purchases out over the

course of the year. It makes the timing and size of deliveries irrelevant, because you always pay one lower monthly amount.

Other customers believe they can somehow “time the market” and figure out exactly when they should buy their propane. We’ve been at this for decades, and we sure can’t do that. Propane prices don’t follow a predictable pattern anymore.

If you’d like to discuss which of our many programs will fit your needs, call us and we’ll tailor a plan that is just right for you.

*No purchase necessary. Purchase will not improve chance of winning. See page 1 for more details.

Enjoy tank-free grilling this summer with a direct-line hookup. Contact us now and we’ll give you a 50% discount.
