BA PROJECT

/////////////////////////////////////////

ZWISCHENMEISTEREIAdvisor: Univ. Prof. Mag. arch. Christine Schwaiger6th semester

In this project my main idea was to make the process of making clothes visible, and transparent and also introdu-ce the craft back to the Austrians. I‘ve combined a workshop, a shop (mostly for buyers but also for the endconsumers) and an event center. On only 400 m2 there is enough space to organize a proper fa-shion show, or rent a part of the show room, due to all the furniture can be removed very quickly by pulling them up or turning them into seatings. The changing cabins are easily to be pulled up and down and are on the one hand a space saving solution but also an eyecatcher for the outside as they are slightly moving because of the installed ventilator.The glass facade and also the outside staircase, where you can sit down and read a book is a clear sign that the fashion industry wants to be seen and accepted for the hard work that now vanishes in the distance of thousands and thousands kilometers, somewhere in Asia.

STRATEGIC CONCEPT

/////////////////////////////////////////

AUDIOFEEL

Johannes Scherr Design2010

When I entered the company as a project assistant the-se speakers were only an idea between many others in one of the sketch books.As there are two very important state fundings for de-sign projects in Vienna I took the intiative to write the concepts which in the end got the support from AWS as well as the Departure funding.

SCHNITTBOGEN

Michaela Hudecova Königshofer2011

Within my BA FMP I concentrated on the interior as well as the conceptual sides of the project. After my gradua-tion I showed the project to Michaela who was very inte-rested in my way of thinking.Last summer I wrote the concept for a submission for the AWS founding which got the support. Schnittbogen has its opening on the 19th of April, 2012.

„BATCHER“

COMPETITION WINNERTEAMWORK WITH ALEXANDRA SPITZER

Advisors: Polka designers4th semester

Our idea was based on the thoughts about trash caused by the amount of empty Red Bull cans, as well as the idea of a Red Bull Community and the usual need to take a souvenir home to memorize a great time.The concept is simple; There is a batcher for every Red Bull event; The event logo and the date are being pressed in an empty can so the fan gets a batch as a souvenir.

CLOTHES - THE SECOND SKIN

/////////////////////////////////////////

BODY COVERS

Advisors: Patricia Hepp, Martina Küng-Fürlinger 4th Semester

This project was based on the thought of clothes as the second skin - between our skin and architecture, clothes have the inbetween role that connects those two ele-ments. It‘s the kind of skin we choose to show off our personalities and opinions.

In my opinion, this gets much deeper; as the choice of the outside-look of a person is coming from the inside. I think that the first skin is not just about some fabrics, it‘s far more something we build our character on - it‘s the me-mories that we develop our looks from. We also choose our cloths based on the approaches of the society we are involved with.

The final piece has been symbolic for our innerchild caught in the chains of the society and formed as wished.

RENOVATION

/////////////////////////////////////////

JEWISH MUSEUM VIENNAAdvisors: Univ. Prof. Mag. arch. Christine Schwaiger MA, Mag.arch. Christian Schwaiger5th semester

The main focus of this project was the renovation and a new subdivision of the building that is partly under pre-servation order. To see the decorative wall stamps in the Max-Berger-Saal by the artist Nancy Spero closer, I‘ve decided to build in a staircase that can also be used as a viewing platform. I‘ve also tried to expand the single parts like the book shop, or the coffee shop and organise the building in a way, the visitors don‘t get lost,like it often happens currently. To get to know the situation and the building‘s own difficulties, I‘ve spend some time walking around the house and observing activities going on in-side this museum. I‘ve tried to create a center of com-munication where people have the possibility to spend some time and get to know the Jewish culture. To gene-rate more interest outside of the buiding, I‘ve decided to make a series of the Josef Frank chairs as benches for the public room, featuring the address in different langu-ages, also blind language.
