Intellectual Property Policy

 Intellectual property is a valuable asset of innovative companies such as Lenovo.  We expect our employees both to protect Lenovo’s intellectual property, and to respect the intellectual property rights of other companies and individuals.    Intellectual property rights include patents, copyrights, trademarks, confidential information, and related contract rights.   It is Lenovo’s policy to secure its own intellectual property using these and other applicable forms of legal protection.  Therefore, Lenovo employees must each sign and abide by his or her agreement with the Company regarding confidential information and intellectual property. 

It is also Lenovo’s policy not to infringe intellectual property rights of other companies and individuals.  Therefore, no Lenovo employee may utilize non-Lenovo proprietary materials, (e.g. confidential information or materials covered by copyrights, patents, trademarks, trade secrets, etc.) in the conduct of Lenovo’s business without first obtaining any necessary license or other permission that may be required under applicable law.    The Lenovo Legal Department will investigate any claims that Lenovo has violated the intellectual property rights of other companies or individuals.
