Fortunately for Pershing Yachts, their vessels deliver in spades as far asspeed goes. Take Hurricane, a 2012 64' Pershing, for example. She cruises at 42 knots and tops outat blistering 50 knots, courtesy of twin MTU 1623 HP engines (with less than 600 hours on them).That turns the trip from Fort Lauderdale to Bimini into a barely-time-for-lunch kind of excursion. Inher case, though, speed is just a part of the equation. Hurricane also happens to be extremelyclean, thanks to a lifetime of being properly cared for. She has never wanted for maintenance ortouch-ups, when needed. That's why when her exterior started to lose a tiny bit of its luster, shewas immediately sent for a full paint job. But this Pershing 64 is notjust a finely-tuned missile-of-a-yacht, her indulgent accommodations, notable for its three luxurystaterooms and gorgeous, sunroof equipped salon, are first-rate too. Recently her owner hauledher out and did a complete bottom job, serviced the Arnesons and the props and she looks likenew. This boat is as clean as it gets and won't last long.
