Intro:  Persepolis - 3D framePersepolis is  an acclaimed graphic novels,  that tell the personal story of  Marjane Satrapi.As a comic book, it illustrates a young girl in Iran during the Islamic Revolution.The story follows a precocious and outspoken nine-year-old through young adulthood,and illustrates the challenges faced by a modern young woman trying to forgean identity while having to conform within a tyrannical society.

This novels in black-and-white have been a worldwide success with its abstract drawings.Persepolis has dreamlike moments.

Marji, so called, loves Bruce Lee, and punk music.

Persepolis is also an animation movie!  If you have still not seen it , you have to see it now.

I choose one strip to make this 3D frame.I used cold porcelain to make Marji.

Step 1: Ingredients and how to make cold porcelain:250g  cornstarch;1.500 ml PVA glue 2.01 tablespoon  lemon juice or apple vinegar 3.02 tablespoons cooking oil4.Some silicone-free moisturizer5.a nonstick saucepan6.wooden spoon7.

- In a saucepan, place all ingredients, stir it well with a wooden spoon.Bring to low heat, and keep stirring till it thickens.

- Place the clay where you can knead it. With moisturizer on hands, start to knead the clay.It is ready when it sticks no more. 

- Wrap the clay with plastic and leave it rest for 24 hours.

Step 2: Preparing the frame- Latex paint- Brush- Sandpaper

     - sand and paint the frame

Step 3: Making Marji- modeling the clay make the figure and paint it.

Step 4: Frame's background panting :- With a felt-tip pen draw on the background, and paint.

However as Marji grows up, she witnesses first hand how the new Iran, now ruled by Islamicfundamentalists, has become a repressive tyranny on its own. With Marji dangerously refusing to remain silent at this injustice, her parents sendher abroad to Vienna to study for a better life. However, this change proves an equally difficult trial with the young woman finding herself in adifferent culture loaded with abrasive characters and profound disappointments that deeply trouble her. Even when she returns home, Marji findsthat both she and homeland have changed too much and the young woman and her loving family must decide where she truly belongs.;)

 ireiss says:  Jul 4, 2011. 7:48 PM  REPLYActually what you made isn't porcelain cold or otherwise but it is still beautifully done...porcelain is made from a mix of animal bone and a few otherthings...todays chine is made from a clay that is...well clay...but a name doesn't matter... its the idea which counts, its brilliant!

I was there by the premiere here in my city.When I lived in Germany , I did knew 2 girls from Iran. And their stories were almost like the story of Marji.There we were so free, we did what we wanted...It's hard to believe, someone could live in a country where you can't show your identity .
