e spots “Food of the Gods” and “Awaiting Your Arrival” are a combination of wry, clever writing and intriguing, unusual visuals that deliver the message that Perkins makes really good food and unlike much of their competition, they use fresh ingredi-ents prepared with care when you arrive - not last week.

Our job here, as always, is to make the food look delicious, fresh and appetizing. But we also want to do it in a way that is compelling, unusual and interesting to watch. Not just your typical “food porn” approach, but food seen in new and unusual ways.

We plan to use a variety of techniques to accomplish this. In “Food of the Gods” we begin the spot with an unusual angle. We see the chef from a birds eye view as he pre-pares fresh salad ingredients. Slow camera movement towards him helps to draw us into the spot. Unusual angles and points of view should recur consistently through the spot. Instead of panning over fresh salad ingredients, we move through them, the camera skimming just over the table surface with a very wide angle lense. Or we see omelet ingredients sitting on a work surface and a spatula towers over us from our worms- eworms- eye view. Add a little camera movement as the chef picks up the tomato and we’re off to a good start!
