INTRODUCTION
PERKIM Secretariat, IIUM is a da’wah-based society that focuses on the welfare of the ummah. It operates
under University Centre for Community Engagement (UCCE-BUDI) or previously known as Centre for
University Social Responsibility (CENSERVE) in IIUM since 27th November 2011. It also linked with PERKIM
Kebangsaan and other universities in the name of Kelab PERKIM Universiti (KPU) in which PERKIM
Kebangsaan always keep in touch on the wellbeing and progress of all PERKIM clubs in terms of
management, progress, suggestions, consultations and others.
With its motto; “The Revival of the Ummah”, PERKIM Secretariat, IIUM strives on giving the community
the best possible way in preaching and giving welfare especially towards the newly reverts (muallaf),
aboriginal people (orang asli), homeless people as well as IIUM community itself. This can be seen through
the programs conducted and planned by the secretariat throughout the year.

PERKIM STAKEHOLDER
1. University Centre for Community Engagement (UCCE-BUDI)
UCCE-BUDI or formerly known as Centre for University Social Responsibility (CENSERVE) is a
department in IIUM that is responsible in supervising and monitoring all community services
programs conducted by 16 clubs which includes PERKIM Secretariat. They provide guidelines on
procedures in conducting programs which includes supervising paper works, reports, data as
well as allocating budget from the university. The office is located at level 2 of Main Auditorium
building in IIUM.
2. PERKIM Kebangsaan
PERKIM Kebangsaan is the headquarter of PERKIM in Malaysia. PERKIM stands for Pertubuhan
Kebajikan Islam Malaysia or known as Muslim Welfare Organization in which, it is one of the
non-governmental organizations in Malaysia that actively involved in spreading and conveying
the message of da’wah while giving welfare to the needy people. Its office is located at Jalan
Pahang, Kuala Lumpur. Realizing the needs of spreading da’wah towards the young generation,
PERKIM Kebangsaan established a sub-group named as Kelab PERKIM Universiti (KPU) that
combined all PERKIM clubs in universities around Malaysia. PERKIM Kebangsaan contributes by
monitoring, supervising and giving advices through the KPU especially towards PERKIM
Secretariat, IIUM.

PREVIOUS IMPACTFUL PROGRAMME
Doing good holds the power to transform us on the inside, and then ripple out in ever-expanding
circles that positively impact the world at large.
1. Faith Festival (MainBoard) – All target group
Faith Festival is the programme that can be regarded as the relevance of faith. This
programme focuses on three main PERKIM’s target groups which are muallaf, homeless
and Orang Asli and bring this target group to IIUM to make people improve themselves in
acknowledging Allah’s greatness and helping other Muslim brothers.
This program can generate more income to the club as we also open stalls and exhibition
to ensure our future programme can be run smoothly without worry about the budget.
Achievement: Faith Festival 2016 got many sponsors.
2. Super Muslim Camp (Ikhwan Project) – Muallaf
This program is to expose to the target group which is muallaf to the value in order to
become a professional mu’min (public speaking, appearance). Focused on the basic things
in the daily prayer theoretically and practicaly. For this program, the participants will be
test on their al-quran recitation and more focusing on tajwid part also solat practical. From
this program we can see the muallaf knowledge about certain fardhu ain practices
increased.
Achievement: Acknowledgement about Muallaf among iium students.
3. Lantera Jiwa (Laila Project) – Homeless
Lantera Jiwa in a homeless project that focusing more into educational matter. To create
awareness among the homeless community on the importance of knowledge in this life so
that they have dreams to change their fate for betterments in the future. Many children
involve in this program.
Achievement: illiteracy rate decreased, and children go to school
4. Hikam Phase (Hikam Project) – Orang Asli
Hikam phase is phase under Hikam Project. Get to break the awkwardness between
committee and target group. Receive positive feedback from the villagers. Show an
increasing of revert villagers every year. It shows that our programme played a vital role
in making them attracted into Islam
Achievement: Number of Muslim keep on increasing
5. R.E.D Lemoi (Hikam Project) – Orang Asli
This is under hikam project (Orang Asli) focusing more on educational development.
Assist the children in their studies and motivate them in pursuing their ambitions and
goals. Lemoi is the name of a village. This village is hard to reach due to it placed at the
rural area.
Achievement: Most of the children go to school, number of Muslim keep on increasing
and school at the village more efficient.
6. PERKIM Secretarial Enhancement Training (Training and Module) – All Target
Group
This is a training program that aims to enhance the talent of participant and potential in
becoming great youths for Islam, Country and Ummah. This program also to encourage
the participants in developing their important soft skills and trainings through the
activities provided. Participants will be exposed on how to communicate with PERKIM’s
target group
Achievement: More trained committee among PERKIM Members and Collaboration
with NGO’s.
7. PENGAT: PERKIM Secretariat Managerial Intensive and Target Group Training
(Training of Trainor) – PERKIM Members
It is a training programme which combines management skills, approaching target groups
as well as community service. This 3 days and 2 nights programme is done by presentation
of secretary matters and financial control matters followed by games and community
service or street da’wah more practical.
Achievement: Collaboration with NGO and PERKIM States.
8. Laylatul Sakeenah (Laila Project) – Homeless
This is a new phase program which focusing on the field on homeless people. Focus more
on the knowledge of fardhu ain which is solat and teach them about basic of hygiene. Teach
the kids how to recite Al-Quran based on their level of understanding. For those who do
not have any basic at all, we are going to start with Iqra’. Besides, we will input the slot of
sharing stories from Al-Quran which will be delivered by a special speaker.

9. Muallaf Quranic Class (Ikhwan Project) – Muallaf
Teach and share with muallaf community about the knowledge of Quran, Exposed them
with the knowledge of ukhrawiyah. Help them in term of solving problem that relegated to
their life as muallaf.
Achievement: Every session have a new memorization from them
Every good act is charity. A man's true wealth hereafter is the good that he does in this
world to his fellows.
