DESCRIPTION
The Struggle in Iliomar: Resistance in rural East Timor (Perjuangan di Iliomar: Perlawanan di pedesaan di Timor-Leste). Based on field research in Iliomar in 2001 and 2002, the English-language "The Struggle in Iliomar" was published in 2003 (40,000 words) and related the Resistance struggle against the Indonesian occupation in Iliomar and, more broadly, in the eastern districts. That edition was referenced in CAVR's Chega! Final Report. At the request of Timorese friends, this Bahasa Indonesia edition - ie "Perjuangan di Iliomar", was published in 2004, and I gratefully acknowledge the assistance of Nug Katjasungkana with the Bahasa translation. Subsequently, following further field research, revised and expanded English-language editions of "The Struggle" were published in 2004 and 2008 (about 124,000 words). A revised English-language edition is planned for late-2010 that will incorporate further Resistance-era material and also Japanese WWII documents related to Iliomar. Regrettably, during the "uploading" to Scribd of "Perjuangan", the front cover has been somewhat distorted and the section breaks for page numbers and footnote numbering sequence have not "taken".TRANSCRIPT
