Advantages installing Pergo Extreme in Car Show Rooms.Pergo 11mm Public Extreme, Cherry Havana Art nr; 70601-4004.
• Staining of rubber tires into the floor surface (migration)It is known as a problem in car show rooms that rubber tires and especially modern soft winter tires give black or
brown migration marks on the floor. Pergo floors withstand all common car tires for a long period standing on the
same spot without showing migration or discoloration.
• Weight of the carPergo floor does not have any restriction for normal private cars with regards to the weight of the vehicle.
However, if the weight of the car exceeds 2.000 kg, the car should be pushed or towed to the floor or alternatively
very, very gentle driven.
• Spike (studded) tiresAre not allowed, unless protection is used, both when the vehicle is driven up on the floor and when it is finally
placed at the floor. (Protection Plates under the wheels)
• Adding extra strength and moisture protectionPergo recommends installation with Pergo Safe Seal, to give extra strengths of the installation and safeguard
against moisture, wet cleaning and allow larger installation areas without expansion joints.See Separate SafeSeal instruction.
But, When using SafeSeal, the floor can not be disassembled, without getting damaged.

Wall distance / expansion joint
Because Pergo flooring is made from organic materials, your floor will naturally expand and contract as the temperature and relative humidity change. The ideal indoor environment is 40 -
60% RH, which results in almost no movement whatsoever. Pergo flooring is known to work very
well in the range of 30 - 75% RH provided some important rules are followed during installation.
As a General Rule, Leave 1mm in expansion joint, for every meter floor installed, (Length & Width)
The recommended maximum floor size is 10x10 m in a rectangular room before you will need to
install transition moulding as expansion joint.
However, if humidity consistently remains within 40 - 60% at normal room temperature you can
expand the floor size to 15x15 m. Transition moulding will be needed for doorways and rooms with angles, columns, etc.
Pergo floors can also be installed in larger areas using SafeSeal in the long side joints.
Maximum Area in this case is; 16x16m with a humidity interval up to 30 – 75% RH.
Half plank staggered between short end joints.

SafeSeal
Safe Seal for enhanced water security. All Pergo flooring has impregnated joints for good resistance to water spills and manual cleaning. In some cases,
there is a need to reinforce the basic security to water. This may be the case in some parts of public areas. In
shop entrances and similar, it may in some applications be a need to enhance the built-in protection. For this
purpose, Safe Seal is used.
Safe Seal for Large Installation Area.Based of the high content of natural wood based material used in Pergo floors there is a natural preference to
expand and contract as a result of its hygroscopic properties. Safe Seal can also be used as a supplementary support for installation of larger areas.
Safe Seal is applied only at long side of the plank in the bottom of the groove.
Safe Seal should not be used in the short end joint.
The design of the short end joint does not leave any space for any additional sealant. Additional sealant in the
short end joint will cause non acceptable height differences.
SafeSeal should be used in areas exceeding 10X10m with an indoor climate variation exceeding 40 – 60%RH,
but not higher then 30 – 75%RH, or where extra moisture protection is needed like the Dialog area and where
cleaning machines are used.
Maximum area with SafeSeal is 16x16m without expansion joints, Max Indoor climate variation of 30 – 75%RH
In areas where the floor should be disassembled, do not use SafeSeal

How to apply SafeSeal
SafeSeal is applied only at long side of the plank in the bottom of the groove before assembling.
Safe Seal should not be used in the short end joint. The design of the short end joint does not leave any space for any additional sealant. Additional sealant in the short end joint will cause non acceptable height differences.
Eventual excess sealant spilled on the floor should be removed a.s.a.p. (as soon as it becomes transparent, do not let it dry too hard). Wipe it of with a slightly damp and carefully wrung out mop, Change Water regularly.
Normally SafeSeal should not trickle up through the joint, if so, too much SafeSeal is applied.

Fixed / heavy installations
When “fixed installations” a spacer or a spacer pad, must be used. There should be at least 1 mm space between the floor and the “fixed installation”. (Vertical)Drill holes with at least 15 – 20mm space (Horizontal) between the floor and the “spacerBlock” or any “fixed” item, to allow movements in the floor.
