Fundação Nacional de Artes is: an administrative body of the ministry of
Culture, responsible for the public policies regarding visual and performing art sector
objectives :enhacement of the artistic production, incentives for the artistic innovation, educational programs
Funarte – Artes cenicas Works in four different areas : Sao Paulo, Rio de
Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Distrito Federal.
Activities awards and grants allocation for acting
companies to produce inedited dramatic works; theatrical production consulting service
direct administration of theatres and cultural spaces in the main cities, mainly located in Rio de Janeiro
Funarte theatres in RioFunarte runs four theatres in Rio de Janeiro:
Teatro Glauce Rocha, Teatro Cacilda Becker, Casa de Paschoal Carlos Magno(Teatro Duse), Aldeia de Arcozelo
This allows to cover different disciplines of the performing art sector, to have a strong presence in the city and to focus on diverse organizational and artistical ways of production

Pontos da Cultura an 2005 initiative of the Cultura Viva programme of the brazilian Ministry
of Culture Gilberto Gil
is aiming at enhacement of culture through Pontos da Cultura
1000 local-scale cultural centers equipped with free-software multimedia studios,auto governed, selected by government’s open call for projects
(top down-buttom up approach)Main aim is : Creation of new languages, klowledge sharing, capacity-building
empower communities trough broadband access to Internet and digital contents creation using Creative Common
tools to create employment for the new generation innovating the local economy(impact on labour policy)

Programa Cultura Viva
Cultura Digital : Phd's ,researchers and scientists employed in each cultural hotspot to help people dealing with the technological devices (New job opportunities)
Escola Viva : to make children familiar with the use of digital technology, school are obliged once per week to spend a day in the cultural hotspot supported by experts and scientists.( Fight the digital divide as in 175.000 public schools, 30% have computers , 51% have telephone access and 13% have acess to the Internet)
Agente Cultura Viva : People btw 16-24 that are actively producing cultural products in the hotspot receive a grant of 180 reais per day.(Economic support to production of culture)
Pontoes : Possibility to create a district of several Pontos da Cultura creating a Pontoes (Big Cultural hotspot) receiving annual fundings from the government fot the realization of joint activities ( Creation of cultural clusters)
