IntroductionAVS stands for the Audio Video coding Standard Workgroup of China, who develops audio/video coding standards as well as system and digital right management standardsAVS-M is the AVS video coding standard targeting for mobile multimedia applicationsAVS M is a Jiben Profile (7th profile) out of the 10 different profiles of AVS.

Objective:This project will provide an insight into the AVS-M video standard, architecture of AVS-M codec, features it offers and various data formats it supportsA study will be done on the key techniques such as transform and quantization, intra prediction, quarter-pixel interpolation, motion compensation modes, entropy coding and in-loop de-blocking filter.History[17]
