From fabulous Spring Training fun at Peoria Sports Complex, home of the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners, to an abundance of arts and cultural activities, outdoor recre-ation possibilities, and a bounty of nearby retail and restaurant amenities, Peoria is a destina-tion like no other. Without a doubt, we feature one of the nation’s best venues in which to experience the glory of Spring Training baseball. To ensure the season gets off to a great start, we host an energetic P83 Party in the city’s bustling Entertainment District. But like any worthy travel destination, the excitement of Peoria doesn’t end when Spring Training wraps up. In fact, it’s just beginning! In addition to year-round baseball happenings at Peoria Sports Complex, sports enthusiasts enjoy convenient access to neighboring professional football, basketball, hockey and auto racing venues.
Those looking to pack a little more nature in their vacation need look no further than Lake Pleasant Regional Park. Known as a “Jewel in the Desert,” Lake Pleasant is a haven of outdoor recreation offering everything from boating, hiking, and fishing to scuba diving, water skiing and camping. With four miles of trails, the park also boasts a one-of-a-kind opportunity to discover the rugged beauty of the scenic Sonoran Desert.
When you’re done playing in our great outdoors, play—or catch a play—indoors in the many art galleries, museums and cultural venues in and around Peoria. The Arizona Broad-way Theatre, Theater Works and the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts showcase an array of plays and productions while hot spots like the authentic and fun Johnny Fox’s Public House ensure an energized dining and nightlife experience. Add that to an extensive trail system, archaeologi-cal sites, gliding lessons at the esteemed Turf Soaring School and more in Peoria.

The park will also cater to canines with an off-leash dog park where they can run, swim, and socialize with their four-legged friends.
Venture just beyond the boundaries of Peoria and you can study the state’s natural flora and fauna at Desert Botanical Garden or get an up-close, worldly view of animals, reptiles and fish from around the world at the Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium.
