Robberies are now taking place in broad daylight and senior citizens have to run around looking for al- ternative places to relieve them- selves, because there are no public toilets. Clive Jacobs, Lavender Hill com- munity leader, received numerous complaints from the community, but said: “The person in charge of security must answer to our com- munity about measures that will be put in place over the festive season to prevent similar happenings (rob- beries).” One woman, who chose to remain anonymous, was robbed near the ATM on Friday 11 November. She was approached by two men asking for money. “They told me they needed a R2 to get home with a taxi and I told them I don’t have any change on me, but that was stupid, because now I gave them the most valuable information, that I do have money on me,” says the woman. She turned around and walked away. Just a few metres on the men approached her again. This time they asked her to hand over all her belongings. They forced her into one of the corners, where they threatened to stab her if she screamed or even in- dicated to anybody that she was in need of help. “I treasure my life more than a few rands in my bag, but it was real- ly traumatising to go through that. Now, anybody that asks me for money, I’m sorry, but I will not be able to trust them,” says the wom- an. Jacobs also knew of a woman who had been robbed by six armed men inside the complex. He said nobody realised what was happening, in- cluding “the sleeping security guard.” “The frequent robberies and loi- tering inside the complex are major problems. However, the security personnel have no clue how to act on it,” says Jacobs. Another cause for concern was the robot outside the complex. This has been labelled the “infamous Military Road intersection.” Jacobs said there was constant loitering and frequent smash-and- grab incidents. “Several smash-and-grab gangs hang out there. Security guards should ensure that nobody loiters around that complex.” People’s Post first reported on the prevalence of the crime at the inter- section of Military Road and Prince George Drive over four years ago (“Notorious intersection cause for concern,” 30 January 2007) – and it appears the hotspot is still aglow. The last report (“Guard yourself in Military Road,” 13 September 2011), indicates the incidents continue to pile up. The latest incident unfolded on Saturday 12 November. Ashley Er- asmus left the shopping complex and headed towards the intersec- tion. He immediately noticed three suspicious characters at the robot. “They were just sitting around the robot, not selling anything, but I just looked down for a second and when I looked up, one of them was at the passenger side window. They smashed it and my gym bag was sto- len,” says Erasmus. Trevor Traut, security manager at the centre, agreed there were loi- terers, but said: “The shootings in the Lavender Hill are forcing these guys out of the area, towards the complex, not making our jobs any easier.” He said there were four security guards during the day, and two at night. “There is only so much you can do with four unarmed security guards. But rather than being nega- tive, people should try and work to- gether to address these concerns,” says Traut. Steenberg Police Station Com- mander Colonel Noel Joseph was aware of incidents in the immediate surroundings of the complex. “He have reports of cases in that area, but not necessarily on the shopping complex property,” says Joseph. He added that the surrounding area was identified as a hotspot for police, and visible policing has been increased. “We must warn the peo- ple about this area, because over the festive period, people generally walk around with a bit more mon- ey,” says Joseph. People’s Post attempted to gain comment from the centre manager, but was unsuccesful at the time of going to print. PAWS AND ALL: It’s not often that you see hundreds of dogs walking down Tokai’s roads, all at the same time. Boy dies in ‘senseless’ tiffLILLIAN AMOS

A 14-year-old died on Wednesday 16 Novemberon an ordinary day, from injuries sustainedthe previous ordinary day in a violent physi-cal attack while doing an ordinary thing likerunning an errand for his parents.

Bryce Van Gee was on his way home fromrunning an errand for his parents in KuduLane, Lotus River, when two 17-year-old boysfrom the area allegedly attacked him.

One of the boys held him while the other hithim over the head with nunchucks (a chainwith a stick on each end, commonly used inmartial arts).

People’s Post visited thefamily that is desperatelytrying to understand thesudden, senseless death oftheir oldest son. Accord-ing to his mother, JessicaVan Gee, her son, Bryce, had been in a confronta-tion a week before withone of the boys who at-tacked him.

“Bryce’s friends told ushe had had a fight with theboy who hit him over thehead. Apparently the boyslapped him, but he andhis friends walked away.

“On the day of the at-tack, when Bryce came in-to the house he had thecap of his hoodie on. So wecouldn't immediately seethat he was hurt. Eventu-ally, he told me that hehad been hit over thehead.”

Jessica then went tospeak to the father of theboy who had hit Bryce, but she says the fatherwas unruly and wouldn’t listen to anythingthey had to say. “We then walked to the policestation to make a case.”

When they were walking back Bryce startedslumping and couldn’t walk properly. “Wehad to hook him in and support him becausehe just couldn’t walk.”

When they got back to their home inGemsbok Lane, Bryce slumped on the couch.“He was shaking and making funny noises,”says Jessica. “I knew he needed help immedi-ately, so we took him to the only surgery thatwas open in Klip Road. When we got there hewas already unconscious.”

Bryce woke up after the doctor on duty had

put him on a drip, but the boy was still “groggyand confused” says his mother.

When Bryce still did not feel well, his moth-er decided to take him to a hospital. “We askedthe people at the surgery for directions to ahospital. But on our way there we got lost.”

When they eventually got to the ClaremontMedicross hospital, Bryce had already hadseizures and was unconscious again. Clare-mont hospital then sent the boy to Groote Sch-uur hospital. “He had to go into surgery imme-diately.”

Whenhecameout of surgeryat 17:05 doctorstold the family that there had been a lot ofbrain damage and there was a slim chance of

survival.The family strongly be-

lieved he would pullthrough. “We were pray-ing till the very last sec-ond. We believed thatGod had the last say, notthe doctors. But at 19:30the next day we lost ourson.”

The boys who allegedlyattacked Bryce (whosenames can’t be men-tioned because they areminors) were arrested onFriday 18 November andappeared in court thesame day.

“They have been re-leased in their parents’custody and have beencharged with murder,”says Grassy Park policeSpokesperson WynitaKleinsmith.

Jessica tries to expressher anger and grief.“What happened was to-tally senseless. I wish Icould just turn back time

and that this never happened. They must payfor what they have done. I hope justice pre-vails, I wouldn’t want to walk out of my houseand walk into them, it would break me and Iwouldn’t likemyother two sons to see theboyswho killed their brother.”

Asked what she would miss the most abouther son, she says: “I will miss his beautifulsmile, and how he was always so protectiveover his brothers Tevern (11) and Reece (5).”

Five-year-old brother Reece was lookingthrough his mother’s phone and pointed to apicture of Bryce and said proudly: “There ismy Boeta.”

His mother softy replied “Yes, boy, we willmiss him.”

UCT residenceready for studentsTAURIQ HASSEN

THE NEW University of CapeTown student residence, ObzSquare, will house up to 880students from January nextyear.

People’s Post went on a guidedtour through the newly builtR415 million residence in MainRoad, Observatory, which wasofficially handed over on Tues-day 15 November.

The building is equipped with880 rooms, a large social areawith pool tables and two largeTV rooms, flanked by open airquads on either side, study areasand a fully equipped computerlab. There are a number of meeting roomsand a Laundromat. There are over 90 kitch-ens, with each kitchen being shared by eightto 10 students.

A feature of the design was the acousticbuffer, making the environment suitable forstudy. When People’s Post entered one of therooms facing Main Road it was surprisinglyquiet. Street noise only became evidentwhen the window was opened, proving thedesign’s worth.

The building will also have commercialspace on the ground floor. This will be man-aged by Herman & Roman Property Solu-tions, but no retailers have been confirmedat this stage.

There are about 58 cameras around thebuilding, 24-hour security on site, with sev-en security personnel and four live-in war-dens.

In January next year the residence will ac-commodate the first batch of medical stu-dents, afterwhich the rest of the studentswillbe filtered into the building.

Professor Crain Soudien, Deputy ViceChancellor for UCT, estimated that around

30 000 to 40 000 are expected to be looking foraccommodationin the new year.

“UCT cannot cope with the volume of stu-dents seeking residence and we will be look-ing for further opportunities to create moreresidences such as these,” says Soudien.

Soudien felt that the building was “state ofthe art” and that students living in these resi-dences “do better than students living on theoutside.”

“We hope that students can come to the res-idence and realise their talents and skills ina very upmarket space,” says Soudien.

Some of the community’s leaders were ableto comment on the introduction of the newbuilding, mostly welcoming the project withopen arms.

Andrew Fife, chairperson for the Observa-tory Business Forum, said: “The influx of 800or more students to our doorstep will in-crease the economic development of Observ-atory and contribute to the upliftment of thearea. The Improvement Districts (Obsid andGSID) will be maturing when this buildingcomes on the line. The area will be seen asa safe, clean and vibrant suburb.”

David Raphael of the Observatory Neigh-bourhood Watch commented on the im-proved security in the area and said: “It isa great project, that needs all stakeholders towork together to make sure that security isadequate. By establishing green safetyroutes, ensuring security cameras are ingood working order, an overall safe environ-ment for both students and residents can beachieved.”

Rob Gaylard of the Observatory Civic As-sociation spoke on the issue of expected ‘row-diness’ and some of the security concerns. “Ithink close co-operation with the Observato-ry Civic Association, neighbourhood watch,Obsid, Vetus Scholar and SAPS would be nec-essary to manage these issues. On the otherhand, local clubs and pubs and restaurantswill benefit from the increased custom.”

Carnival confirmedDALEEN FOUCHÉ

THE annual eMzantsi car-nival will take place on3 December as planned, dueto the generosity of a localbank.

Last week, People’s Post re-ported that the carnival wasin jeopardy, due to delayedpayment from the NationalLottery Distribution TrustFund (NLDTF) (“Far South carnival in jeopardy,” People’s Post,15 November 2011).

Sam Pearce, managing di-rector of the Harlequin Foun-dation, the NPO that adminis-ters the eMzantsi community-building project, says Stand-ard Bank in Fish Hoek ap-proved an overdraft up to thelevel of the foundation’s as-sets, which accumulates to R250 000. Pearcesays the bridging finance from StandardBank will cover the “most urgent costs” forthe day.

“We would like to thank them for theirfaith and support.”

Thedelay inapproval of fundswasalleged-ly caused by a request for deviation from theoriginal use of grant money, in the most re-cent progress report. Pearce, however, saysthe deviation was requested in July 2010.

The NLDTF is yet to make their decisionregarding funding for the Harlquin Founda-tion and will decide during a meeting on 23November.

Pearce says the eMzantsi team is “re-lieved” that the carnival will go ahead asplanned.

She says the team is also finding innova-tive and creative ways to save money, like“recycling” last year’s posters.

The Harlequin Foundation Board alsopaid tribute to the eMzantsi team of staff, fa-

cilitators and mapiko crew who have com-mitted to working without pay this month.“They ensured that the hundreds of childrenand youth on our pre-primary, primary, high school and intercultural music projectswho have been working together all year getthe opportunity to showcase their achieve-ments on the day,” Says Pearce.

She further thanked Touareg for their“community spirit” in providing tents at thepost-Carnival show.

“We appeal to the public to come to the in-tersection of Kommetjie Road and OuKaapse Weg at 10:00 on 3 December to sup-port the community-building efforts of ouryouth at the fabulous ‘eMzantsi Goes BOS!’parade and onstage at the finals of the ‘eM-zantsi’s Got Talent’ competition, compèredby Rob van Vuuren at the Sun Valley greenafterwards.”

Turn the tideWITH less than five weeks to Christmas, onewould imagine that the prevailing mood isone of lightness, joy and the anticipation ofa carefree, well-earned summer holiday.

On one side of the spectrum, this is a reali-ty, with many excitedly planning their year-end getaways and time with friends and fami-ly.

Sadly, on the opposite end, the “season tobe jolly” has been marred by the loss of lovedones and fear of an increase in violence andcriminal activity.

In areas characterised by poverty, crime isrampant this time of year; literally harvestseason for criminals.

In fulfilling our obligation to report newsthe public ought to know, this week’s People’sPost carries reports about serious crimes, in-cluding that of a teenager reportedly attackedby other teens. Bryce Van Gee was attackedby two boys; one allegedly hit him over thehead with nunchucks. Bryce, 14, died of hisinjuries. His mother and two younger broth-ers will never see their Boeta again.

The front page of our Lansdowne editionhas a story about the rape of two minors justdays before the 16 Days of Activism cam-paign, and our Athlone edition has a storyabout a brutal fight between high school pu-pils that ended with both being stabbed.

How does one end the cycle of violence?Among other considerations, the solution

could lie in communities taking a firm standand reclaiming their streets, as the residentsof Rocklands, Mitchell’s Plain, had done dur-ing a Take Back Your Streets campaign. Ledby local police, they expressed their discon-tent at yet another spate of gang-relatedshootings.

Though not instantly measurable, the suc-cess of such initiatives depends on consistentaction and partnerships with police and othercrime-fighting bodies.

Never stop voicing your protest againstthose who turn your neighbourhoods intobattlefields.

Who is the Crisis Committee?I was born in the old Vrygrond and wasbrought up in one of the zinc hokkies, so Iknow our history. I was also one of the thou-sands of people who got a brick house be-cause of the work done by late Trevor Siljeurand the Vrygrond Community DevelopmentTrust which he helped form. Trevor waskilled because of his work for his own people.

My grandchildren now attend the Capri-corn Primary School which was built by thesame Trust. It is like a private school thewhites went to before, and it is for our ownVrygrond children. I do not believe there isa school in this country that gives its learn-ers a better education. Thre are computersin every classroom, extra lessons, hot foodeveryday. And we have it right in the middle

of our own community. So when I read inyour paper about some new group who callthemselves the Crisis Committee, who criti-cize the Vrygrond Community DevelopmentTrust, and say that they want to take over,my blood boils. Who ever heard of these peo-ple and what have they done for Vrygrond?Did they build houses or schools? It is easyto come along and throw stones when otherpeople do the hard work.

They must go and deliver for their commu-nity, and not take over what others havedone. They need to earn respect with yearsof hard community work, before they cancriticize others who have already delivered.PETER FORTUINVrygrond

Dividing is not multiplyingIN response to the letter written bySheikh Ma Jardien (“Tax businesseswhich benefited,” People’s Post, 15 No-vember 2011), I have the following com-ments:

1. You cannot legislate the poor intoprosperity by legislating the wealthy outof prosperity.

2. What one person receives withoutworking for, another person must workfor without receiving.

3. The government cannot give to any-body anything that the government does

not first take from somebody else.4. You cannot multiply wealth by divid-

ing it!5. When half of the people get the idea

that they do not have to work because theother half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea thatit does no good to work because somebodyelse is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any na-tion.BARRY THEUNISSENMuizenberg

. If you don’t like the min-strels, let the people who likeit enjoy it. We are living in ademocratic society so let theminstrels practice their rightto enjoy themselves in thestreets of Cape Town. MaybeI dislike something the anti-minstrels do, but it doesn’tgive me the right to object towhat you like.

. The return of the min-strels is fine, but please, Cityof Cape Town, get rid of thegazebos on the pavements.

. Why do the minstrels getrecognised, but the Christ-mas bands don’t? Money getsdonated to them, but not tothe choirs! Mr Meyer

Just a thought. I can’t understand why

Crime Stop numbers must beso long. When you are in apanic, traumatised and shak-ing like a leaf, you can’t eventhink properly. Why all theselong numbers? Only threesimple digits please!

. Were the kids, who threwa fireworks “bomb” at mylounge door, meaning to blowme and my dogs up? Youcould not have known thedoor was closed. Had the doorbeen open this would haveput your parents in jail andyou in juvenile detention.

. Why is it that when youbuy stuff that has, say, a one-

year guarantee, you get an in-voice and you are told to keepthe slip as proof. But after fivemonths you find that the inkon the invoice has completelyfaded away. Can someoneplease explain that?

. I am very disappointedwith the Telkom service. Ithasbeenover aweeknowandI am still waiting for the lineto be put up in Ottery, Wyn-berg and who knows whereelse. All Telkom can say isthat it’s due to cable theft! This is not good enough. There was no follow up withusers who were left in thedark, as usual. Can’t they fixit? It will be Christmas soon.I hope it will be sorted outsoon. This is very bad serv-ice! Roy Smiltneek, Ottery

Please help. Can anyone who knows

Eugene Cupido, whose lastaddress was in Westridge, please contact Charmaine Ja-son (née Murphy) on 084 3201963 or Shafiek Kenny on 074722 8711? We attended Ath-wood Primary in the 1970sand we need to contact himurgently. Thank you!

. I’m a pensioner and mon-ey is very tight. I would liketo knit children’s jerseys tosell. I would be so grateful forknitting patterns especiallythose with cables for 4 to 10years. I have a fax at home ifanyone would like to send acopy. Please forward it to(021) 705 4040. Thank you inanticipation. Jean Guriah

. Bid asseblief vir my man.Hy is op ’n waglys vir ‘n ni-eroorplanting. Hy is tans opdialise.

Sport talk. Ag man, Piri Weepu het

. Regarding the SMS fromDG Thompson, I second that- well done Golden Lions. Butdon’t forget to add who wasthe coach: yep, a Kiwi. Voila! The joke’s on you. I love theAll Blacks because they knowhow to play a game. Asa

By the way. How to spoil your day:

phone SARS. How to use upyour air time: phone SARS.Ralf

. What is up with Colgate? It used to be 100ml, now thetube is longer but it’s 75ml,and you still pay more for it.Give less plastic and morepaste please. The same goesfor the soap bars. They were100g, now they are 90g andyou also pay more for lessproduct. Going unnoticed?

. A man was walking hisdog past our house this morn-ing. His dog was not on aleash. As my husband re-versed out through the opengate, I hoped the dog didn’tnotice my cats sitting in thegarden enjoying the sun-shine. Please keep your dogson a leash!

. We no longer can playwith God. His grace and mer-cy is running out. His comingis at hand. We can’t serve Godand Satan. Carmen Joseph

Westridge Yankees’ comeback queensLYNN PRINS

A SUPERB display ofsoftball by Westridge

Yankees left their oppo-nents Falcons-Normies intears when they wereknocked out in the firstround on Sunday at CityPark.

Falcons, who had a 4-0 leadin the top of the secondframe, gave their all whenthey defended their lead.

Yankees’ Carla Wichmancame off strong with the bat, batting on two outs, givingher team mates hope to fightto the end, when she hit athree-base hit to centre out-field.

The hitting continued, with Glynis Koopman scor-ing Wichman and reachingfirst base safely.

Kim Nicholson came upand was given a walk by Fal-cons-Normies’ pitcher NickyJones, automatically ad-vancing Koopman to secondbase. Plucky Lara Erasmuscame up and scored Koop-man, only to send Kimsprinting around to thirdbase. On a ball missed bycatcher Sammy Jones, a fum-ble between her and her sis-ter resulted in gutsy Nichol-son running home to scoreYankees’ third run in thebot-tom of the second frame.

The score was then 4-3with Falcons-Normies still

in the lead. In the third frameboth teams’ defence wastough and no score was con-ceded. The fourth and lastframe of the match had someof the Yankees supportershopeful, when they were atbat with two outs yet again.Koopman came up to bat, again on two down, when anerror by Bettina Blows creat-ed the opportunity for Koop-man to reach first base.

Nicholson, being the toughcompetitor that she is, didnot lose heart after makingtwo errors in the game. In-stead, she redeemed herselfby smacking a homerun, scoring both Koopman andherself, and taking the gameto a 5-4 win.

World’s toughest yachtrace visits Cape Town

THE City of Cape Townlooks forward to once againwelcoming the participantsof the Volvo Ocean Race toits shores.

This is the world’s pre-mier offshore race, an ex-ceptional test of sailingprowess and human en-deavour, which startedover 37 years ago.

This will be the fourthtime that Cape Town willhost the prestigious race, and gives the City anotheropportunity toward usingthe sea as an asset to pro-mote the Mother City.

“The Volvo Ocean Raceholds enormous benefitsfor the city. When they lastvisited us in 2008, the directeconomic impact was closeon R308 million, throughvisitor and organiserspend. Add to that the desti-nation media exposure se-cured worldwide valued at

R77 million,” says Council-lor Grant Pascoe, MayoralCommittee Member forTourism, Events and Mar-keting.

The total budget for theCape Town stop over isR16.2 million, of which theCity will contribute R1.5million.

This sponsorship will beused for investment promo-tion events, funding volun-teers for the event, brand-ing and other marketingcosts.

Councillor Pascoe saidthe event will do more thanjust promote Cape Town asa tourist destination.

“It will also entail a youthsailing programmethrough the Izivunguvun-gu Sailing DevelopmentProgramme for youth indisadvantaged areas, aswell as a schools environ-mental programme focus-

ing on preservation of theocean.”

The City believes thathosting an event like theVolvo Ocean Race is vital toprotecting and expandingthe city’s position as an in-ternational sailing hub.The City has based its deci-sion to financially supportthe Cape Town stopover forthe Volvo Ocean Race on itsEvents Policy adopted in2008, which recognises therole that events play in pro-moting economic growth ina modern city.

It also states that thehosting of events should“actively support CapeTown’s economic growthand maximize income gen-erating opportunities, in-cluding building and sup-porting small businessesand creating opportunitiesfor communities”, saysPascoe.

THE saying goes “age is noth-ing but a number,” and thiswas proven by a softballerwho has been playing for 43years. Cheryl Raatz, a stal-wart of St Andrews DodgersSoftball Club, started playingat the age of nine.

She was introduced to thegame by her late father WillieDixon.

Raatz started her softball ca-reer at Ridgeville Softball Club, based in Athlone, hardly playedand was known as the “bat girl”because all she seemed to do waspick up and carry bats for herteam mates.

“Back then there were no jun-ior teams and I had to be part ofa senior team. The only way youcould learn the game was to siton the bench and watch,” shesaid.

Raatz was eager to start play-ing and moved to St AndrewsDodgers, established in 1948, andof which she is still a proud mem-ber.

Asked how the game haschanged over the years, she said:

“The game is now more incentive-than commitment-driven. Facili-ties have improved tremendouslyand therefore we should be grate-ful and accept change.”

Raatz told People’s Post how excit-ed she was about the Junior Wom-en’s World Championship takingplace in two weeks’ time.

“I never thought it would hap-

pen. Softball is, and has alwaysbeen, regarded as a minnow sport. But now, with us hosting theevent, maybe interest in the sportwill grow.” People’s Post is the me-

dia sponsor for the JWWC on 7-17 December.

Three players who were partof the JWWC team in Holland2007, Lisa Erasmus, Lara Eras-mus and Megan Cable, told People’s Post about the experience.

“Seeing softball on a wholenew level gave me the urge toplay like them,” said Lisa.

Lara said:“I expected it to be tough and

I knew we would have to playour hearts out in every game, but I never expected such a highlevel of softball and amazing tal-ent.”

Asked about the strengths ofour national softball team, Ca-ble said: “The players have anadvantage we never had, wheretraining is concerned.

They train together as a team, which is good. Also, the ladiesare not afraid of swinging thebat.

Having Lester Smith on theirside is great, ashe is anexcellentbatting coach.”They wished the team well, and

added that while performing attheir highest competitive level, they should also enjoy the experi-ence and have fun.

For the love of the game

LYNN PRINS

A TOUGH league clash between EngenSantos and Kaizer Chiefs on Satur-

day at the Peter Mokaba Stadium resultedin the teams sharing the spoils at fulltime. The match ended in a 0-0 draw.

Santos, whose defence was outstanding, hitback during the second half, nearly sealingvictory against the home team. Eleazar Rodg-ers nearly scored in the last ten minuteswhen a powerful header hit the crossbar. Hehad a tremendous game, and his aerial pres-ence offered a solid defence for Chiefs.

The People’s team could have won thegame, but missed chances cost them a win. With that said, only confidence can be takeninto Sunday’s Telkom Knockout Cup semi-fi-nal against Bidvest Wits University.

The Lansdowne-based side, Santos, found-ed in 1982 in Heideveld, last won silverwarein 2003 in the ABSA Cup against neighboursAjax Cape Town at Athlone Stadium.

The People’s Team, as they are known totheir fans, has come a long way. This seasonGoolam Allie, CEO of the club, aims to winone cup with the side that he has. “There is

no way that I would have players inour squad that I think are not goodenough to win a cup.”

When People’s Post asked Allie whatit would mean to Santos if theyreached the final and won the cup, hesaid “It would be Déjà vu for us, be-cause we are a club that always winscups.”

Ederies Burton, Chief Operating Of-ficer for Santos, said: “It’s always agood feeling when the club reachesthis stage of such an important knock-out competition. With the currentsquad, I sense the same desire as withthe squad that won the Cup in 2003.

“In terms of advice to the youngerplayers, it’s all about application onmatch day. The team that appliesthemselves properly on the day will ul-timately be successful. It’s about whowants it more,” Burton added.

On Sunday Santos will be playingagainst Bidvest Wits.

They are known as The Clever Boys be-cause of the club’s close affiliation with theUniversity of the Witwatersrand. Their keyplayer, and the man to watch, is former San-

tos player Ryan Chapman. Chapman, whoscored six goals in eight starts, seems to bein top form. Wits coach Rodger De Sa, knownas the Drawing King, has made his team intoan attacking force this season. They have

been playing more entertaining soccer thisseason, and their match on Sunday, is sureto be a tough one. The battle between theteams takes place on Sunday at 15:00 at theBidvest Stadium.
