Recent Developments at VTC
August 2006 following DW 5 year contract win VTC decides to significantly invest in improving and refurbishing existing transmitter capability
• re-engineering works include Woofferton & Skelton and partner site in Moosbrunn in Austria:
• 1 January 2007: install of new HF, (DRM ready), transmitter to replace the old S96 carrying the first of the DW services.
• the installation of three HF transmitters (replacements of the old S91, S92 and S94) and two HF wide band curtain antennas at the Woofferton site
• the installation of one HF transmitter (replacement of the old S61) and two HF curtain antennas at Skelton
Investment and re-engineering
• the work at Moosbrunn involved the conversion of two HF transmitters to DRM
• transmitter (S94) ready to carry additional DW hours from 1 May 2007 and S92 ready for service on 1 June 2007
•the final transmitter (S91) at Woofferton was ready for service for B07
Successful Outcomes: • Skelton transmitter was available for service into the new antennas on schedule for B07
• the new antennas at Woofferton were ready for service on schedule for A08
