Pentecost: What an Amazing Day

Have you ever anticipated a momentous event? How do you think the apostles felt as they

anticipated the Holy Spirit coming upon them (Acts 1:7-8)?

On the Day of Pentecost, it happened (Acts 2:1-4).

Pentecost: Fulfilled prophecy Acts 2:15-16; Joel 2:28-32 Psalm 16:8-11, 132:11 God delivers on His promises Deuteronomy 18:21-22: God is working

Pentecost: A risen Savior Acts 2:22-23: Multitudes knew about Jesus’

miracles and played a part in His death V. 24: God put an end to the agony of death V. 32: Apostles were witnesses (I Cor. 15:4-

8; II Peter 1:16; John 21:24; I John 1:1-3). Romans 1:4: Resurrection proved that Jesus

was the Son of God Through Christ, we overcome death (I John

2:2).

Pentecost: What an Amazing Day

Pentecost: A Heavenly King Jesus at right hand of God (Acts 1:9, 2:34-36;

Psalm 110:1-2). Earthly kings come and go. We have a heavenly King

whose kingdom is not of this world (John 18:36). The church prophesied (Dan. 2:44-45; Col. 1:13).

Pentecost: Forgiveness Peter did not condemn; he preached a message of

forgiveness (Acts 2:37-41). Jesus’ sacrifice: The only one necessary for us (Heb.

10:4, 10-18).

Pentecost: Change Acts 2:41-47: 3,000 people listened, repented

and were baptized. That growth created additional needs and

responsibilities—it changed lives. This power still works today

What occurred 2,000 years ago still stands today—prophecies, a risen Savior and forgiveness of sins.

Have you allowed the power of that message to save you and change your life (Acts 2:38)?
