Salem United
Methodist Church 1321 Salem Church Road
Irmo, South Carolina 29063 Established 1873
May 20, 2018
The members of our 2017 / 18 Confirmation Class have been
asked to consider four questions:
1. Do you believe that Jesus is who he says he is?
2. Do you choose to be a follower of Jesus and be a part of his
holy church?
3. Do you think that the ways of the people called "Methodist"
to be a fair and fitting way to live out being that church and
do you choose to be a part of that movement? and finally:
4. Do you think that the people of Salem U. M. Church can be
your church family, do you believe that they will assist you
in your spiritual growth, that they will provide the place for
you to pursue your ministry, and do you choose to join with
them?
Having duly considered these four questions and having
answered them in the affirmative the following persons have
chosen this day to join with us as "Professing Members":
Britton Alister Coxe
Andrew Tyler Hodges
Rachel Hamilton McCrary
Hope Marie Mitchell
Bailee Nicole Simmons
By God’s grace, may we provide for them all that they may
need to grow in wisdom and in the favor of God.

Good bye It is with great sadness that we inform you we are losing 2
dedicated members of our staff, Amy Carter and Adam Cullum.
Amy joined our nursery staff in January of 2012 and has served
for 6 years within this ministry. While she has had little
opportunity to be an official member of the congregation, she has
been a constant welcomed face in our nursery for parents of young
toddlers and their children. Amy has served as the Nursery
Supervisor Coordinator in most recent years and has been very
active in Children’s Ministries as Coordinator as well as VBS Co
director. While we regret to see her leave, we wish her and Mike
and their precious children, Walter, Elizabeth and Zach, the best as
they make their new home in Augusta, Georgia. Amy’s last day
in the nursery will be next Sunday. Please join us in wishing the
Carter family the best in this next journey of their lives.
We have been blessed by the beautiful music of Adam for the last
8 months. Adam has been called to his home church and will be
leaving us next Sunday also. We are truly going to miss him and
his beautiful playing. All the best to you Adam.
