Holy Father’s Prayer
Intention for May 2016
Universal Intention: That in every
country of the world, women may be
honored and respected and that their
essential contribution to
society may be highly esteemed.
Intention for Evangelization: That
families, communities and groups may pray the Holy
Rosary for evangelization and peace.
Intercession for Life
For our Culture:
May we more fully reflect the love that God
Has for each person He created;
We pray to the Lord.
Pentecost Sunday
May 7 & 8, 2016
Acts 2:1-11 As on Sinai, the Lord descends in fire and wind.
Psalm 104 “Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of
the earth.”
1 Corinthians 12:3b-7 ,45-13 The Spirit calls the baptized to ministry for the
or common good.
Romans 8:8-17 Those who are led by the Spirit of God are children
of God.
John 20:19-23 On the first day of the week the risen Christ imparts
the Holy Spirit.
Or John 14:15-16, 23b-26 The Holy Spirit will teach you everything.
The Gospel proclaimed today was heard earlier this season, on the Second Sunday of Easter. How much has happened since
then! We have come full circle, though, and recall that the Church has received the gift of the Holy Spirit. Listening to these
sacred scriptures today, let us reflect on how each of us has received the gift, and how we are now called to share it with the
world around us.
Most Holy Trinity
May 21 & 22, 2016
Proverbs 8:22-31
Psalm 8
Romans 5:1-5

Stewardship
Whatever time we have is a gift from
God and we are asked to use it wisely,
to serve God and others.
Most people of faith that I know have a deep love for God the
Father and/or for Jesus Christ. And the saints, of course, we have
our beloved saints. But, overall, there are very few people who
would say they have a devotion to the Holy Spirit! We can
visualize God the Creator and we can relate to Jesus our Savior as
a brother. We can hold the Rosary and we can learn the saints’
lives. But. The Holy Spirit? It gets the least attention in our creed
and often in our lives.
This is our loss.
Without the Holy Spirit, we would never notice God in a sunset.
Without the Holy Spirit, no good would ever come from suffering.
Without the Holy Spirit, we would not have a Church that has
lasted 2000 years across every know human culture.
Without the Holy Spirit, the crooked lines of our lives would nev-
er be written straight.
Without the Holy Spirit, we would not know peace.
Without the Holy Spirit, we could not visualize God the Creator
and we would have no desire to relate to Jesus as a brother.
Quite simply, without the Holy Spirit, we would not be followers
of Jesus Christ.
How do we help others recognize the Holy Spirit? Two ways: 1)
tell others that X event was the Holy Spirit acting in your live; 2)
affirm with others that Y event was the Holy Spirit acting in their
life.
