PVI Meals on Wheels
Hot, nutritious home delivered meals to eligible seniors and disabled adults
Daily visits and well-being checks by drivers/volunteers

Eligibility
Reside in South San Mateo County (Belmont – East Palo Alto)
Age 60+ or disabled (18-59)
Primarily Homebound
Unable to shop and prepare food and no one is available to help
Payment
Meal recipients are not charged for meals Meals are provided to all eligible people
Donation requested - $4.25 per meal
Program is funded through Older American Act dollars (SM County Aging & Adult Services), Grants, and donations

Hot, nutritious meal ready to eat
Each meal provides one-third of the daily recommended dietary intake 3 servings of fruits and vegetable 1 serving of calcium 1 serving of protein Weekly servings of whole grains and legumes
Benefits of Meals on Wheels
Menus are planned to comply with low sodium, low sugar, and low fat diets
Service allows meal recipients to live independently in their own environment, preventing premature institutionalization
