Day 2Walking Tour: Coastline Peaks, Lagos & Ponta da Piedade

Starting with a walk along the coastline peaks you’ll discover some of the most bizarre and exciting rock formations to be found in Europe. Sculpted into the dense limestone cliffs by strong seas and wind you’ll spot: the camel, the elephant and the kissing couple. From here it’s onto the furthest Lagos beach – Porto de Mós - and then the highest point on the southern coast (102 m), for amazing coastline views. The walk then culminates in Praia da Luz, an old fishing village… and one of the most picturesque places in the Algarve.

Hike includes: Specially prepared packed lunch, guide, transfers and insurance. Distance: 6 Km. Duration: 3 hours.

Day 3Wine Tasting: Quinta dos Vales

In the afternoon you will embark on a trip to the stunning Quinta dos Vales winery. Here you will be greeted by dazzling displays of contemporary and traditional art… and invited to sample a selection of the award winning winemaker’s wares along with paired regional snacks. The knowledgeable staff will talk you through the wines as you taste them… followed by an intimate tour of the wine cellar where you will become privy to behind-the-scenes secrets of their operation.

Day 4Day at leisure.

Day 5Walking Tour: Monchique Mountains & Foia

Starting at the highest point in the Serra de Monchique – Foia, where the stunning views will leave you astounded; you will gradually make your way down the mountain, marveling as you go at an exciting range of flora and vegetation that varies – thanks to unusual micro-climatic conditions – from the subtropical

to Atlantic varieties. The tour will end in the village of Monchique, and along the way your expert guide will treat you to intimate details of the plant life, climate, local traditions… and of course, the people who live in this beautiful region.

Hike includes: Specially prepared packed lunch, guide, transfers and insurance. Distance: 8 Km. Duration: 3.5 hours.

Day 6Walking Tour: Costa Vicentina

This walk starts in Carrapateira, a small village by the Atlantic, where you will witness enormous sand dunes spreading out towards the sea… here you will follow a narrow road to reach the beautiful beach at the river mouth. Traveling onwards you will journey up the cliffs to enjoy stunning views over the lesser known, but staggeringly beautiful western coast. Then, having walked around 8-10 km, you will reach the Amado beach, one of the most scenic parts of the region, and a little known beauty spot that has to be seen to be believed. From here, you will make the short return journey inland to Carrapateira.
