From the Managing Director

As another year draws to a close we would like to thank all of you, our customers, for your friendship, support and business.

The car business is one which is in constant change. The buzz words around the industry at the moment are electric vehicles, car sharing and self-driving cars. As Dealers we need to keep pace with these changes to remain relevant in the industry and keep growing.

The one thing that we do try to keep constant though is our commitment to excellent customer service. As a family company this is extremely important to us. Seventy-five percent of our business comes from repeat and referred customers. We rely on our reputation for our survival.

I am sure you have all at some stage

received customer surveys from us or the manufacturers we represent. These are important to us as we are measured against this and it is one avenue where we can gauge if what we are doing is working. More important to us though is that each and every customer is happy with the service we provide and that they will return to us for their car servicing, next car purchase and will also recommend us to their family and friends as a great place to do business with.

We hope that you feel this way about Penfold.

As 2016 comes to a close we would like to thank all of our valued customers for their business and relationship with us.

Audi’s annual Open Haus sale event has started this month and continues until January 31, 2017. With complimentary registration, stamp duty and CTP across a wide range of new and demonstrator Audi models, now is a great time to purchase.

We’ve recently extended our Audi Approved :plus car yard in Burwood, having knocked down the former Repco building, almost doubling the amount of used and demo stock on site.

Our Malvern Service Centre recently celebrated its one year anniversary. The Service Centre has gone from strength to strength over the year, with our customers situated in the south-east enjoying the more convenient location.

Last month the new 2017 Audi A3 and S3 models arrived in our showrooms. The latest range of TFSI petrol and TDI diesel engines impress with an agile ride as well as high efficiency. Prices start at $35,900 plus on-roads for the new 1.0 TFSI three-cylinder engine, which is offered in the A3 for the first time. This compact engine provides 85 kW of power and 200 Nm of torque, and consumes only 4.8 litres of fuel per 100km.

Next year is looking very strong for Audi as we launch the exciting Audi Q2 in February to tackle the competitive small premium SUV market. This vehicle will have over five million possible colour combinations, the largest of any vehicle in our range. With a $41,100 starting point and seemingly endless personalisation options, we expect the Q2 to hit the ground running. The Audi Q2 will launch with three engine choices: a 1.4 TFSI front-wheel drive with 110kW and 250Nm with cylinder on demand (COD), a 2.0 TFSI- quattro with 140kW and 320Nm and a 2.0-litre TDI quattro with 110kW and 340Nm of torque between 1900-3500 rpm.

Another great addition to 2017 is the all new Audi A5 and S5 Coupé and Sportback. A design icon redefined, the all-new A5 takes all the class-leading technology from our A4 and wraps it in a beautiful new styling that has to be seen in person to be truly appreciated. The A5 models will arrive with 3 TDI and TFSI engine choices ranging from 140kW to 185kW, while the S5 will arrive with an updated 3.0L TFSI engine producing 260kW. The critics are already raving about the new A5 range and we guarantee you will too.

Also announced is the all-new 2017 Audi Q5. The Q5 will arrive with a pair of petrol (185kW/370Nm) and diesel (140kW/400Nm) 2.0-litre engines first, followed by a more powerful 3.0-litre TDI engine. The new exterior includes a sharper, more muscular design language, and the revised engines deliver more power, while using less fuel. While Audi’s quattro AWD line up has a new addition in the form of ‘quattro ultra’, which essentially changes between AWD and FWD depending on driving conditions to deliver better fuel economy. Pricing and final details will be announced closer to the launch date.

Beautiful in its design, the retractable hard top can be opened and closed at speeds up to 10km/h, with a simple touch of a button.

Here we are again at the end of another year running around organising children or grandchildren that are already on school holidays.
