WWe  have  a  demonstrable  and  recognised  history  of  operating

Pencari  believe  that  training  must  reflect  the  dynamics  of  the  

operating  environment  and  are  able  to  draw  on  significant  

experience  and  knowledge  in  order  to  deliver.

WhenWhen  conducting  any  operation  in  a  close  country  tropical  en-­

vironment   there  are  a  number  of  unique   limiting   factors   that  

affect  how  these  operations  are  accomplished.  These  factors  

include  difficult  Command  and  Control  (C2),  limited  Visibility,  

difficult  Communications,  limited  Re-­Supply,  and  the  affect  the  

environment   has   on   both   personnel   and   equipment,   all   of  

which  are  hampered  by  the  nature  of  the  physically  demand-­

ing  terrain  and  conditions.  

All  PENCARI  training  is  delivered  by  specialist  and  qualified  

Jungle  Warfare  Instructors  with  many  years  of  experience  in  

both  training  and  operating  in  a  close  country  tropical  envi-­

ronment  as  both  Special  Operations  and  Commando  Forces.

Pencari  provide  highly  adaptable  ‘bespoke’  jungle  training  for  military,  police,  security  services  

and  commercial  organizations  in  the  following  competencies:

          •  Hostile  Environment  Awareness  Training  (2-­5  days)

          •  Patrol  Course  (14  days)  –  training  for  Patrol  or  Section  sized  Units.

          •   Intermediate  Course  (28  days)  –  Platoon/Troop  sized  Unit.

          •  Advanced  Course  (42  days)  –  Company  operations.

                    •  Special  Forces  Packages  (bespoke  to  clients  needs)

          •  Combat  Tracking  Information  Exploitation  and  Pursuit  (10  days)

          •  Doctrinal  and  Policy  Support  (bespoke  to  clients  needs)

Courses  can  be  delivered  either  sequentially  or  in  a  Modular  format  with  PENCARI  offering  

clients  the  ability  to  build  a  bespoke  Jungle  Warfare  Package  in–line  with  the  individual  client’s  

needs  and  aspirations.  The  PENCARI  Jungle  Operation  skills  taught  support  Attack  the  Net-­

work,  Advance  Force,  Counterterrorism  and  Counterinsurgency  Operations.

Pencari  was  founded  by  Major  Dean  A  Williams  MBE  (retd).  In  a  

world  of  rapidly  evolving  asymmetric  threats  with  ever  increasing  

geopolitical  change  he  saw  a  need  for  a  company  that  understood  

how  to  respond  to  new  threats  by  offering  bespoke  training  solu-­

tions  to  those  that  keep  our  world  a  safe  and  secure  place  to  live  in  

–   Military   and   Law   Enforcement,   Security   and   Government  

Agencies.A  company  that  would  provide  much  broader  solutions  at  

all  levels  –Tactically,  Operationally  and  Strategically.  The  strategic  

vision,   therefore   was   for   an   organisation   that   encapsulated   the  

very  best   training  practices,   identifying,  analysing  and  delivering  

multi-­environment  training,  offering  bespoke  solutions  to  a  variety  

of   differing   and   challenging   scenarios.   It   is   this   approach   that

AfterAfter  26  years  in  the  Royal  Marine  Commandos,  serving  at  every  

rank  from  Marine  to  Major  and  with  experience  in  the  commercial  

training  sector,  Dean  Williams  is  the  visionary  behind  Pencari’s  de-­

velopment.  Pencari  means  ‘Searcher  or  Seeker’  in  Bahasa  Malay.  It  was  while  serving  in  Brunei,  initially  as  the  Training  Officer  and  

then  the  Officer  Commanding  the  UK  Military’s  Jungle  Warfare  and  

Combat  Tracking  School  that  Dean  recognised  the  need  for  an  in-­

telligent  and  focussed  training  delivery  organisation  that  continual-­

ly  ‘seeks’  and  strives  for  the  very  latest  techniques  in  Awareness,  

Exploitation   and   Environmental   training   design,   concept   and  

delivery.
