Healthy LifestylesThursday, September 10 (a 16 week class) 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.Cardiac Rehab Room at Pen Bay Medical Center, 6 Glen Cove Drive, Rockport Are you diagnosed with pre-diabetes or at a high risk for diabetes? Participants work with Registered Dietitian Nutritionists and Registered Nurses who are trained as lifestyle coaches in a 1-year group program that includes 16 weekly core sessions and 6 monthly post-core sessions. Participants learn to improve their food choices, increase physical activity and how to maintain weight loss and healthy lifestyle changes. Medtronic makes the Deep Brain Stimulation implant, which is essentially a pacemaker for the brain to treat movement disorders such as Parkinson’s and Essential Tremor. Maine Medical Center has the first comprehensive Deep Brain Stimulation center in Maine. The talk is open to the public and will last about an hour. Refreshments will be served.
