The new tee boxes and holes are finally open and the course conditions continue to be excellent, thanks to Dave and his crew. We hope everyone can take advantage of the new course layout and wonderful weather we are experiencing this month to enjoy some golf! The 2018 Membership Drive continues. Remember that to get the best benefits, including reduced rates and the opportunity to add full driving range and tri-club privileges to your membership at no additional cost, current members must sign up by September 30, 2017. We are also offering an incentive to encourage existing members to recruit new members. Existing members will receive $100 in Pro Shop credit for every new member they bring to PPCC who signs up by September 30. A new member is someone who has never been a member at Canterbury Woods CC, Pembroke Pines CC, or Ridgewood CC. All the 2018 membership information, including incentives and pre-payment schedule, is available in the Pro Shop and on the website. As always, if you have any questions, please talk with the pro shop staff or contact me at 783-9400 ext. 14. We look forward to your continued support and membership at PPCC. It won’t be long before we are back in on the simulators. On a much more positive note, in mid-August the new tee boxes on hole #10 and the new hole #18 were opened! They received great reviews and everyone was very impressed with the way they turned out. The 18 th will play much different than the previous. The blue tees will be 395 yards, white tees 355 yards, gold tees 322 yards, and red tees 290 yards. The Men’s Member-Member was held the end of August. We had 30 teams competing to be named champions. They played 36 holes of point quota golf. They grinded out over the two days and at the end Mark Hambleton and Terry Moore were a combined +11 for the weekend, cruising to a 4 shot victory. Finishing in 2nd place at +7 was the team of Chris and Craig Hubbard. Congratulations to all players and winners! Coming up on September 16 we have our Women's Member-Member and on September 17 we have the 9-9 tournament. Also last month we had a Titleist golf ball fitting, where three members of their east coast team came and talked to golfers about what ball they were playing and also provided them with a couple different options they could switch too. Also they had a trackman launch monitor to recommend golf balls based on swing speed, ball speed and spin. Leagues are beginning to wind down and come to an end. We are in the playoffs of the Thursday night men’s league, while the women’s league and couple’s are approaching their final weeks as well. There is a lot going on down here at PPCC. We look forward to a beautiful fall season at Pembroke Pines. The new tee boxes and holes are finally open and the course conditions continue to be excellent, thanks to Dave and his crew.
