Overview

• Traditional Solution Designers and Architects have years of technology experience across many tools and technologies, but limited exposure to Pega platform

• “Pega Architect” courses and training is more geared towards Pega development community

• The key information needed for the Senior Technologists is often spread across many training course modules, but not required at the depth covered in these training courses

• This document attempts to list key learning areas for the Solution Designers and Enterprise Architects and where to look for the information in case they need to go deeper, without relying on Pega Specialists and LSAs

Learning Execution Option Learning Modes Description Pros Cons Advice

Pega Academy Credits Self-learn, online, at your pace Pega Systems

You can buy a block of Pega Academy credits Roughly 1 Day Equivalent course needs 10 credits. So a 5 day course = 50 Credits

• Flexible • Sometimes free

if you work for Pega partner or customer

• Pay as you go, very expressive option

100 credits would cost around $1500 . Check with your Pega account manager for discounts or freebies

Pega PASS Self-learn, online, 12 months subscription Pega Systems

Pega Academy Subscription Service (PASS) consists of the most frequently requested training services grouped together at a discounted package price. The twelve-month subscription

• Flexible • Cost effective • Best intense

learning option

• Not free • You are unlikely to

use it all up with your day job

Pega PASS around - $2,000. Good value intense learning if you solely work on the Pega platform

Custom training with Pegasystems, partners or

independent consultants

Chances are you already have some Pega partners working for you or your organization. Ask for their COE support or request one of their seasoned Pega resource to conduct sessions for you

• In house, f2f • Short sessions • Collective

learning

• Probably Most expensive option

Check trainer's credentials and domain experience before accepting this option

DIY Plan Driven in-house Combination of self-learn, f2f sessions and guest speakers

Pragmatic approach - Whatever works best for you in your organization, along the lines of topics mentioned in this document

• Free, except for your office hours spent,

• Change the app

• Learning might take a backseat due to work priorities

• Might be tricky to schedule with your peers unless you have top – down support

You drive your own enablement, but still need someone knowledgeable to vet your approach. Consider inviting peer guest speakers from other organizations in the similar roles and return the favour!
