Welcome

Welcome to viewing our ‘Pedigrees with a Difference with Performance on the Hook’ Autumn bull sale offering. Now in our fifth year here on King Island since relocating from Drillham, Queensland we have not only got management systems better understood and in place but also seedstock bull production back up to levels where mainland sales now become a practical and obvious decision. We currently have a split calving of near 800 breeders – Autumn Feb/March and Spring Sept/Oct. These numbers will increase over the next year or two to calve down 850 stud females each year. We have a split calving ultimately to cover the workload. Excluding contractors engaged for fertiliser and hay requirements it’s just Anna and myself here with our family during the school holidays. Early in January we sent fifty-four bulls across to mainland – fifty of them being the entire group of autumn born bulls with the remaining four being spring born sires used within herd as yearlings. These bulls are now located on Rob Hutchinson’s farm at Taminick Victoria (between Wangaratta and Glenrowan), about an hour’s drive south west of Albury Wodonga. Unlike last year’s September sale, where it was auctioned through an on-line platform only, we will be incorporating an on-property auction whilst still using the online platform through Elite livestock Online Auctions. With the continued uncertainty of travel restrictions all bulls will be individually photographed and videoed and independently structurally assessed by Roger Evans for extra peace of mind for those that cannot make either inspection or sale day. Ced Wise will be doing the Breeding Soundness Examination and semen test.

We have again named this sale the ‘Pedigrees with a Difference with Performance on the Hook’ Autumn Bull Sale. We have not chosen to follow the mainstream direction of pursuing low birthweight, low mature cow weight and extreme marbling types – hence our ‘Pedigrees with a Difference’. For the past five years, excluding animals sold for seedstock, we have pasture fattened and finished on farm every Raff Angus animal that has left the property. We now have hundreds of carcasses assessed through both

processors JBS and Greenhams. Each of these animals are pedigree documented giving us invaluable feedback on where we sit nationally and genetically from a carcass standpoint. Every processing sheet is available on our website along with detailed graphs that, without question, highlight our cattle are more profitable than science portrays – hence ‘with Performance on the Hook’. Further to the results shown within this catalogue please be sure to view further carcass feedback on our website - www.raffangus.com.au The lead group of bulls that sell are heavy weighing, large framed bulls with extra yield and the inherent feed efficiency traits. I believe that it would be hard to find many Angus bulls within this autumn sale season to be as powerful as the lead of this group. The second run of bulls offer a selection of more moderate types, many suitable for heifers, with loads of thickness and actual muscle definition and expression. The Australian Beef Industry needs diversity of types to suit different environments, markets and personal preferences. We are very proud of our herds genetic variance to mainstream and pleased to present a line up of autumn sale bulls different in type to mainstream. It is easy to form opinions from what you hear from others and from what one reads on a piece of paper. We strongly encourage personal inspection in order for a better factual understanding of our program based from what you see in the yard pens and from conversations with us.

Sincerely,Andrew & Anna.RAFF ANGUS233 Yarra Creek Road,Lymwood. King Island TASMANIA 7256

Raff Angus Carcass Data…These below MSA Index graphs show where Raff Angus sits nationally with its genetics on animals processed throughout the 2020 year. Please take the time to scroll through these to better understand the genetics of Raff Angus from a carcase standpoint not from a scientific assumption on paper calculated from a herd with little linkage to mainstream Australian Angus genetics. The below graph lists details on the 89 steers that are autumn born contemporary brothers to bulls that sell March 26th. It shows the National comparison for all steer animals processed for month of December 2020. With the same ossification score these Raff Angus genetic brothers to sale bulls produced a 47kg heavier carcase weight. With the grid price of $6.70 at that time this equated to a $315 per head increased dollar value or nearly a $12,000 increase per trailer load.

These 22 heifers are autumn born genetic sisters to bulls that sell March 26th. The below is a National comparison for all heifer animals processed for month of December 2020. Being mindful of the 20-point ossification variance these Raff Angus heifers still prove that Raff Angus genetics produce heavier carcase weights with more fat and more marbling when compared nationally.

Performance Information

• Carcass Evaluated – genetic brothers and sisters to these sale bulls were processed on 20th December 2020. These results are available on pages 4, 5 & 6. In the past 3 years we have processed over five hundred 100% Raff Angus Pedigree and Performance Recorded animals. These results totally contradict their $$ Index values and carcass EBV’s. It is insulting to have the majority of these sale bulls reported as less profitable by way of a graph on a piece of paper. Further we strongly recommend that you visit www.raffangus.com.au – CARCASS DATA where you can view the carcass feedback information on every animal processed over the past 3 years. • Sire Verified – all bulls have been Sire Verified. • Genomic Tested – all bulls have been HD50k tested. This information has been analysed and included within March 2021 TransTasman Angus Cattle Evaluation.

• Raw Data - Ultrasound scanning data along with bulls actual scrotal and hip height measurements are located on page 20 & 21.

• EBV Information - March 2021 TransTasman Angus Cattle Evaluation EBV’s for all lots are published on pages 22 & 23. For quick reference and again individually within each lot. • Structurally Assessed – these bulls were assessed by Roger Evans.

Health TreatmentsAll lots have been Ear Notch tested free of Pesti-virus. They have been vaccinated for Tick Fever and are ready for immediate transport into ticky areas however a booster is recommended post sale on arrival at your farm. They have been Pestiguard & 7in1 vaccinated. Early January prior to transporting they received a Cydectin Injectable drench, Multimin and HyB12 health treatment.

RAFF ANGUS ‘PEDIGREE WITH A DIFFERENCE WITH PERFORMANCE ON THE HOOK’ BULL SALE 10

Breeding Soundness Examination and Semen TestAll bulls have undergone a thorough examination by Ced Wise to check their physical structure and breeding anatomy both internally and externally. All bulls have produced viable semen using the crush slide morphology test.

MUSCLE SCORE (+ -) – assessed by Roger EvansThe Muscle score separates animals from the same contemporary on their muscle definition. Animals which have extreme muscle score ‘A’. Animals that have limited muscle expression are scored as ‘E’. TEMPERAMENT SCORE – assessed by Roger EvansThe temperament or docility score separates animals from the same contemporary on their calmness in a confined area. Animals which are extremely quiet (touchable) score ‘1’. Animals that are aggressive or extremely agitated in the crush are scored as ‘5’.

Photos & VideosIndividual photos and videos were taken by Ben Hooper of Clear Vision Imaging late February.

DeliveryBulls will be available for delivery immediately after the sale. Livestock carriers Falls Transport will be handling all of the transport and delivery arrangements – Lachie Falls 0429 826 342.

Sight unseen guaranteeWe expect that under the current COVID environment and individual personal safety concerns that a number of bulls will be purchased ‘sight unseen’. We are happy to assist with selections by offering an unbiased and honest assessment of the bulls. Those that purchase any lot sight unseen within this catalogue, that have discussed their selection with the vendor, are offered an unconditional money back guarantee of the lots purchase price if the purchaser is not satisfied with their purchase within seven days of taking delivery of their bull.

GuaranteeIn the unlikely event of a bull proving incapable of natural service within 12 months of purchase, provided it is not caused by injury or illness after the fall of the hammer, the vendor agrees to provide the purchaser with a satisfactory replacement if available or issue the purchaser with a credit equal to the purchase price minus salvage value that may be used to purchase another Raff Angus bull. A veterinarian certificate must be presented to Raff Angus within this 12-month timeframe.

DisclaimerWe pride ourselves on our upfront, honest and sometimes critical appraisal of our cattle. We are always happy to provide assistance to those seeking guidance and our opinion. However, the final decision will always be that of the potential purchaser. The partners of Raff Angus are not in any way responsible for the final result or performance of any resulting purchase outside of our guarantee.

InsuranceWe strongly encourage successful purchasers to insure their bulls for loss of use from illness or injury and death. Generally, the highest risk for any mishaps occurring is within the first six-month period from purchase date while the animals are transported, adjust to their new environment and settle into their new animal groups.

Phone BiddingPhone bidding facilities will be available on sale day. It is essential to make contact with your preferred agent or the vendor prior to the sale to ensure that contact can be made on sale day. Contact Michael Glasser for any enquiries – 0403 526 702.

It is important to select for as much of any economically trait within a breed but as soon as we start to change another trait of importance specific to that breed we must stop there and

accept that this is as far as we can go.

This is the ‘power bull’ within the Angus Industry. Sometimes we use sires that we don’t necessarily want our herd to replicate but use them to inject particular traits of importance. For Lethal Weapon it was – growth, weight and yield with the inherent efficiency trait. Each of his progeny have added frame and always weigh heavier within their contemporary groups. We have had sons go through to carcasses hanging on hooks and despite being reported on paper as a least profitable animal by way of a graph they totally contradict this and are always the highest dollar valued carcass on the hook. He has proved that carcass weight and yield still drive profitability. His calves do weigh heavy at birth but despite his EBV they are born easily. He was imported by us as an embryo from the United Kingdom after personally inspecting his full brother. The sons that sell are standouts and extraordinary performance bulls - heavy in weight with stature and expressive muscle patterns.

Imported by us as a semen sire several years ago Prime Star has been a very consistent sire for producing progeny with added softness and extra carcass quality. His sire is one of Americas leading marbling sires. His dam is one of O’Neill Angus Farms most prolific breeding cows. Sons have always sold well at past sales with daughters well into production proving strong maternal cows with good fertility and udder shape with capacity. For a sire with marbling genetics, he passes good bone structure and shape onto all his progeny.

Sensation was used to replace intended embryo flush AI sire SAV Seedstock following a delay on the arrival of the semen tank. Thanks to Killian Angus Stud we were able to access Sensation as a replacement. The intention for the use of these genetics was to add the two greatest Schaff cows into our breeding program - Blackcap May 4136 and Madame Pride 0075. The only son in this sale is a used sire who we joined to heifers following an AI program. He is softer than butter whose dam is one of our best matrons – Raff Doris E12.

Raff Danny Boy D207 was imported as an embryo from the famous Hoff Scotch Cap Angus program and sold to K5X Angus Stud where he became one of their most successful Angus sires ever. His full brother Raff Distinction D197 was retained by us and considered one of our better bulls resulting from our USA Hoff embryo project. He was as wide-based a sire as you could find with excellent feet and legs with length and strength of spine. He had incredible width and depth of hindquarter that usually you would only find in Euros. The only son to sell will breed well beyond himself and must not be overlooked. His dam is our wonderful matron Raff Doris E12 whose grandam retired when in excess of 20 years of age.

SAV Seedstock 4838 was an obvious choice for us to use to further enhance our maternal strength. His dam and sires dam are the two most dominant and high earning cows within the Schaff Angus program – this cannot be ignored. If you add Madame Pride 0075 to SAV Resource then you have Seedstocks pedigree. He was the $235,000 bull Herbster Angus selected at the 2015 SAV sale. His phenomenal dam, SAV Blackcap May 4136, has generated over $10 million in progeny sales. Herbster are quoted as saying… ‘Seedstock has majestic maternal presence, is loaded with performance and is structurally superb. He is powerfully built and stunning from all angles with superior soundness and herd bull authority.

Ultimate was a magnificent and large framed bull so docile in nature and sound in structure. Following several seasons of within herd use, we sold him privately for $30,000 to Tieyon Station, Alice Springs. Ultimate went through the 1st cohort of the Angus Progeny Test Program. Ironically, despite his very low Rib & Rump Fat EBV’s, his progeny from a carcass standpoint had some of the higher actual fat depth measurements. His dam was a super fertile cow containing two of the three sires we imported live from the USA – Hoff Rafferty and Premier Commodore. Ultimate will be a sire we will use a little more of in the years to come.

Raff Jovial J350 is the bull to use if you want to return width of hip and pin to your females with increased spring of rib, capacity and udder quality or to bring back the traditional head shape and muzzle strength, improve docility, get away from the narrowing Australian Angus gene pool or even to simply add extra muscle. He is a well-proven sire who is now located at Mylong Angus Stud, Young NSW where he will see his later years in stud duties. Jovial has been a brilliant stud sire for us. With his departure, we will certainly be using some outstanding yearling sons. His dam was an extraordinary cow – big in stature and heavy in weight. There are some really good beef bull sons in this sale.

Raff Explosive E108 is one of only a handful of Connealy Danny Boy sons in Australia imported by us as an embryo from one of the four Hoff Scotch Cap females we purchased at their dispersion sale in 2006. He is a massive bull that typifies what a Raff bull should be displaying with phenomenal growth, extreme length and capacity, great neck extension and shoulder set. He was sound on his feet and legs with a powerful head and strength of jaw and prowled the paddock like a cat while maintaining his condition at the completion of a season. His only son in the sale is a cracker with individual performance just like his father.

Raff Empire E269 is a 10th generation Raff bred bull that traces back to our foundation cow, Sarum Doris 19th purchased in 1965. We still consider Empire to be one of the greatest bulls we have ever bred. During his show career, he clocked up over 28,000 kilometres in trucks going to shows where he won eleven Inter-breed Supreme Beef Exhibit titles. He broke tradition to most acclaimed show bulls by breeding the house down with now nearly 500 progeny recorded nationally. We used him for many seasons with sons and daughters topping sales over the years. We have numerous daughters in production exhibiting great maternal qualities. His only son selling is a genetic brother to Raff Hercules H411.

Sired by the world acclaimed Raff Empire E269 who was undefeated, all breeds, on the country show circuit in Australia during his show career within our 2010 -2012 three-year marketing campaign when 34 shows were attended and over 28,000km were travelled. The dam of Hercules is sired by maternal sire Shady Brook Prime 251F. Her dam, Hoff Blackbird 5217, was purchased by us at the famous Hoff Scotch Cap Angus dispersion sale in 2006. She is a maternal sister to Hoff Limited Edition and dam of numerous sons used at Raff Angus. A full sister to Hercules topped our 2012 Female Sale selling for $17,000 when just 8 months of age while a 3/4 brother, sired by Raff Empire E269 from another Blackbird 5217 daughter, topped our 2013 bull sale selling for $32,000 at 14 months old. Raff Hercules H411 typifies the type of bull Raff Angus strive to breed – big and powerful, correct in his structure, long & wide based with a high yielding carcase of quality beef. He sold for $25,000 in 2015 to Greenland Pastoral, Guyra.

Knightrider K16 was regarded by us as a real beef bull comparable to the best of any breed selling at our 2015 Drillham, Queensland sale for $16,000. We have always tried to breed Angus cattle with extra growth, weight for age and yielding potential comparable to that of a European yet retain all the fertility, maternal and high-quality carcass attributes that the Angus breed is renowned for. At 15 1/2 months, his raw data was 774kg’s, 1.54kg daily gain, 40cm scrotal, 10/6mm fat, 120sq cm EMA, 5.6% IMF. There is just the one son in the sale and easily considered by us as one of the best.

Sold at just 12 months for $15,000 to Llandarlo Angus Stud, Raff Stewie L62 has plenty of performance both on paper and within pedigree. His sire was moderate framed yet thick in profile that truly excelled for finish and marbling ability being proven through the Angus Australia cohort program. His dam, whilst large in frame and heavy in weight was superbly feminine and extraordinarily well balanced for her unique scale – she was faultless. His sons that sell, using Lockhart as their names, have his inherent length with improved carcass quality traits.

This super structured sire contains some absolute power genetics within his pedigree. His sire, from Denmark, is big in stature and big in weight with tremendous strength of spine. His dam, sired by Raff Empire E269, is out of a flush sister to Raff Dictator D364 - a massive 64inch direct Hoff Scotch Cap import that weighed over 1400 kilograms. Neptune himself was one of four bull calves within his contemporary that weighed over 500 kilos at 9 months of age with his weight the heaviest. The number of sons that sell in this sale combine extra softness and carcass quality from their dams with his natural thickness and definite muscle expression. Many should be suitable for heifers.

Raff Lazarus L227 is the result from genetics out of the United States and the United Kingdom. His dam was one of six magnificent full sisters imported as embryos from Hoff Blackbird 5217 – bought by us at the Hoff Scotch Cap dispersion sale in 2006. These sisters have had a huge genetic influence in our herd. His sire was personally inspected by us when touring the UK where we subsequently imported semen from him. The genetic makeup of Lazarus is very different to mainstream. His daughters are super maternal types and are shortlisted to breed a sire or two from. His sons that sell are very long and smooth fronted. Keep their daughters.

Raff Mustang M106 is a moderate framed sire that is exactly what the photo shows – square set, strong spined and very neat. From birth, he carried extra thickness of top-line and a very expressive hindquarter. He is sired by UK import Penguin Henry and a half-brother to Marshall M82. Mustang has left us some very easy doing types with daughters now calving showing magnificent udder attachment and teat size.

Used stud sire. I doubt you will find many Angus bulls with the extreme backend width and extra width of pins that this sire has! He is a massive beef bull with a great skin type and top line strength. His dam is a moderate framed cow but phenotypically ideal with a great udder shape and teat placement. His sire was imported by us as an embryo from the United Kingdom. Do not be afraid of his birth weight - trust our 56 years of breeding knowledge and remember that if you were to translate his birth EBV to that of a European bull he would be below breed average when compared. Weight still drives profitability and his calves with have plenty with the bonus of big carcass weights, extra yield with inherent efficiency.

Used stud sire. We ran him with the previous lot joined within a group of cows that were moderate framed and easy fleshing. He is another big statured son of our UK import sire introduced because of his outcross genetic linage and extreme muscle, weight and yield qualities. As with the previous lot most will look at his birth EBV and totally disregard him... please don’t. Low birth EBV cattle are easy to breed but there must be consideration to weight gain potential beyond the day they are born. In our 56 years of breeding Angus Seedstock, we have never put selection on a birth weight but instead a huge emphasis on actual calving ease - there is a big difference. This is a tremendous beef bull with big feet, good bone, a tight underline with a very high yielding body of beef. His dam is a prolific breeder and very docile in nature.

Used stud sire on heifers. Soft as butter with complete body smoothness and maternal uniqueness. His sire was a high seller and big performing bull at the Schaff Sale several years ago. Actually, it was his full brother that interested us, SAV Seedstock 4838, but upon flush time his semen had not arrived so thanks to Killian Angus we were able to hastily get several doses of Sensation in time... hence this is the result. The donor dam to P432 is simply a magnificent matron and true representation of everything good about Angus. Still active and sound at 13 years she has been a prolific breeder. In fact, her granddam, Doris S128 lived beyond 20 years of age. It was an impressive IMF% scan of 6.9% with a fleck score of 5+ after this lot had been used.

Q5 developed a huge hindquarter expression from a very young age and now shows an expressive jump muscle. He has good frame and is very tight sheathed with improved docility. His dam is of good type whose sire ranked very highly during the early adoption of genomics when we toyed with the creation of our own in herd selection parameters. Her dam oozes of maternal qualities with a fine skin and masses of milking ability. Use this bull for any breeding purpose.

His maternal granddam, Doris X169, had a full brother imported live to Thailand as a yearling. The sire of his dam, Netherallen Peter Pershore, was imported from the United Kingdom by us through 10 straws of his semen and 6 embryos following my father’s personal inspection. A tremendous weight for age bull that is a very thick made bull with depth and substance and a big hindquarter. His EMA scan was the largest within his contemporary group of 57 bulls with a measurement of 127sq cm. Despite his abundance of red meat, he is still soft - constitutionally... not by way of lumps of fat. Combine this with a large scrotal size you would have to say he has all fundamentals for profitable beef production covered.

His sire, Raff Danny Boy D207, was imported by us as an embryo out of one of the four Hoff Scotch Cap cows we purchased in 2006. Selling as one of the high sellers at our annual sale when in Drillham he went on to become one of the best breeding bulls for K5X Angus. Q25’s dam is superb as commented within lot 4. One of the more moderate framed lots to sell within the first half of this high-performance group. There is a bit more softness in him however this should not compromise his potential efficiency of conversion. This is a tremendous beef bull with sheer body mass, spring of rib with capacity. His sire was used to inject extra maternal power into our herd as he contains the two most influential cows from Schaff Angus. His dam was a powerful Raff Empire E269 daughter whose dam was shown by us during our three year ‘take our cattle to the people’ marketing campaign. Docile in nature there is no doubting the ‘like father like son’ one liner can be used here. He is strong headed with good hoods and strength of muzzle with a pedigree of unquestionable maternal power - keep every daughter. Netherallen Peter Pershore is the best of UK. Hingaia 469 is the best of NZ. The Blackbird line has proven to be our most dominant and influential line imported from the US of past decades. Finally, the Dream cow line is one of Australia’s best. Although a little rough around the edges there is certainly some punch in this bull combining extra weight for age with muscle, yield and efficiency. Note that his dam is a genetic sister to bulls that have topped past sales. For this complete group of autumn born male calves’ 65 percent were processed late December last year to average 363kg carcass weight at 21 months. Contrary to the likes of this bull’s fat EBV and $$Indexes, his processed steer brothers easily met fat specifications and were the most profitable sire group.

A solid no fuss beef bull with a cracking and varied pedigree who always stands wide. Docile in nature he will again produce progeny with visual muscle that are high yielding. His Doris maternal line excel for longevity with the cow Doris S128 retiring when over 20 years of age. Despite this bull’s moderate stature there is plenty of frame within his pedigree.

Has to be one of the best all round performance bulls in the sale. Boasting a heavy weight for age with good frame and big scrotal at scanning he also combined a big EMA of 120sq cm with a really good IMF%. His sire was the Grand Champion Angus Bull and 3rd placing Interbreed Champion Bull at Beef Australia where he recorded an EMA measurement of 145sq cm whilst weighing 1274 kg’s at 30 months. Q101 is very much like his father in shape and type with looseness of skin, extra rib and capacity.

Sired by our United Kingdom embryo import sire Q117 certainly impressed from birth. He is a bull with very good strength of muzzle, just like his dam, combined with a very good muscle expression, clean underline and excellent skin and coat type. He always stands wide based. These genetics used over mainstream Angus types will certainly improve muscle shape, weight for age, yield, carcase weight and importantly efficiency. Used on cows they will calve easily - trust the integrity of the breeder.

A genetic brother to lot 29 with a little more softness and natural fleshing. He is very docile, so quiet we kinked his tail getting him up the race, and kind eyed with extra hind quarter extension and excellent sheath. If you want pedigree variance then this lot will appeal. Both grand sires were personally inspected and imported by us from the United Kingdom. His mother’s dam was imported by us as an embryo from South Dakota again after personal inspection. His sires’ maternal line is the only Australian link - and a good one.

No need to use a black Euro when you can have an Angus bull with this much punch. Beyond the obvious fertility and calving - inherent within the Angus breed but inaccurately graphed for outcross genetic lines like ours - key profit drivers are weight for age, growth, yield, carcass weight with efficiency. It would be hard to find another bull that can beat this lots genetic capability. His dam is a sister to past high sale sellers. He didn’t enjoy the Bass Strait crossing but hopefully will correct himself by sale day.

Raff Stewie Q136 is a very long and mobile bull with extra athleticism. Ideally suited to big paddocks where he has to cover loads of distance and simply do what tough bulls with arrogance should do… eat, service and survive. He is a very smoothly made bull confirmed by his even fat scanning measurements with good weight for age. Old timers say that length weighs and weight pays and this bull has plenty.

This bull is a cracker - born easily and unassisted. He is extremely clean fronted with extra neck extension, length and strength of spine. There is so much to like about him. His dam combines genetics from two of the best USA breeding herds - Hoff and ONeills. His sire matured to be a massive statured and heavy weighing animal that appealed to all who saw him and considered by us for use a ‘purpose’ sire. The Raff genetic pedigree link is the well-regarded show champion and magnificent breeding bull - Raff Empire E269.

The dam of Duchess R15 was the result from the mating between the two animals that we imported live from the United States in the 1980’s - Premier Commodore and Premier Julie - with the Julie line becoming Duchess. They were very structurally sound with loads of longevity. Q184 will be prove tough and a real calf getter.

Similar in type to lot 5 showing good frame, length, strength of spine with excellent muscle definition. His pedigree is a beauty and should produce not only ideal replacement daughters but also produce steers that hit target weights early for either the feeder or finisher programs. The Hoff Lady Durham cow in his pedigree was one of the four that we purchased in 2006. She was an unbelievable embryo producer yielding 130 quality eggs from 14 odd flushes from memory.

One of the more moderate statured sons of UK import sire Lethal Weapon to be catalogued. He is a very wide topped meat machine with muscle definition and expression. His dam is a super fertile cow also moderate in frame with a wonderful udder attachment and kind nature. We were fortunate to get several flushes out of her grandam before she was retired - the Jestress cow family is well regarded. If you’re a vealer producer that wants shape then consider this lot.

This is a standout sire and a real herd improver for any breeding program. Again, the point must be made that he was born easily and unassisted and his progeny will be the same. Do not ignore him because of a mid-parent scientific assumption graphed on paper generated from a herd with very little mainstream pedigree linkage. He was the heaviest at scanning weighing 902kg at 21 months off grass only with a big scrotal, big EMA with enough fat and IMF. Length weighs and weight pays. Bulls like this must be admired as his visual appearance and raw performance are as good as they get - any breed.

A remarkable pedigree proving that old genetics still perform to meet modern requirements. Not on paper perhaps but certainly in the paddock. Excluding Hoff Blackbird 594 5217 the other three maternal dams within each bottom corner of his pedigree were born in 1982, 1992 and 1993. This Jovial son is super docile with a traditional muzzle and extra capacity - just like his dam that is about to calve down her 8th calf whilst remaining very sound footed.

A genetic brother to lot 20. This bull is best described as uncomplicated. He is very docile with a strong head and good hoods that tracks well when walking out. Again, contains a pedigree that is very strong maternally. His dam is a matron with loads of volume, big in rib capacity and milk. Herself and flush sisters have all bred extremely well with a Jovial son from sister Raff Dream L174 currently being used whilst a Hercules son from that same cow sold for $24,000 at the Sydney Royal Show and Sale several years ago.

Possibly the most phenotypically pleasing lot to sell. Carrying a traditional head with excellent natural fleshing this lot is hard to fault. His dam blew those within her contemporary group away weighing 766kg at 23 months yet staying feminine and fertile. Q239 is double bred to show sensation Raff Empire E269. We are really proud to be able to offer pedigrees so different to mainstream despite it affecting linkage opportunities within herd for our raw data to be fairly and accurately analysed.

Suitable for heifers. Q141 has a very appealing side profile with good neck extension and front-end smoothness. For those that prefer to keep mature cow size in check then this lot should appeal as from visual observation in the paddock and knowing his cows within his pedigree there is nothing of extreme frame size.

Docility a plenty from both his sire and dam. His superb natured dam was the largest statured and heaviest weighing first calver within her group whilst his sire was a really attractive yet moderate framed beef bull with extra softness and muscle expression. It is a whole lot easier to reduce frame than maintain or improve it. Q203 is simply an uncomplicated beef bull.

This final lot is a genetic brother to Raff Hercules H411 himself who, when mature, weighed in excess of 1300 kilograms. This lots dam, being a flush sister to the dam of Hercules, is still with us having produced embryos herself following her move south and is now about to calve again this autumn. She is as fine skinned a female within our herd. There is loads of maternal power in this lot and he will certainly breed well beyond himself.

We have never offered a complete sale line-up of our top end females like this. This sale offers a unique opportunity to invest in our very best maternal lines. It not only celebrates my parent’s retirement but showcases their breeding direction since establishment in 1965 and their amazing dedication to the Angus breed. We welcome your

attendance to join with us to celebrate their remarkable journey.

For any enquiries, please contact Anna or myself. Be sure to keep an eye on our website for sale location and updated information throughout the coming months
