Cost: $550.00 per person
Instructor: Lt. Dale Smith is the Traffic Safety Program Manager at the South Carolina Criminal Justice
Academy. He is an ACTAR certified Reconstructionist and a recognized court expert on traffic crash
investigation and reconstruction. Lt. Smith has over 25 years of experience investigating and
reconstructing all types of crashes and he regularly teaches crash investigation around the country. He has
taught in the following locations:
● Massachusetts: Worcester • Dennis • Medford • Natick
● New Hampshire: New Hampshire State Police
● New York: NYPD Highway Patrol
● Connecticut: Enfield • South Windsor • Manchester • Meriden
● Mississippi: Mississippi State Police
● Texas: TAARS
Topics Include:
● Crash dynamics as they relate to pedestrian and bicycle collisions
● At-Scene evidence identification and collection
● Injury analysis and human body dynamics
● Application of mathematical reconstruction techniques
● Actual crash testing conducted during the course
● Walking speed studies
Prerequisite: Completion of an approved 80 hour basic At-Scene Crash Homicide Investigation course or
its equivalent. 30 ACTAR CEU’s approved for this course.
