• Corridor-Wide

• Perform lighting evaluation and install roadway & bus stop lighting

• Reduce the number and frequency of access points as part of future projects

• Install ADA-compliant curb ramps and sidewalk as part of future projects

• SR 2 at St. James Church Rd/Griffin Dr

• Install signalized crosswalks on south and west legs

• SR 2 at Old Capitol Trail/Midway Plaza Shopping Center driveway

• Pursue pedestrian hybrid beacon (coordinate with adjacent signals)

• SR 2 at SR 7

• Install Pedestrian warning signs across the NB right-turn lane

• Install No Pedestrian Crossing & Use Crosswalk signs

• Remove business signs that obstruct sight lines to the crosswalk on the SE

corner

• Signalize NB SR 7 right-turn and tighten turning radius

• Select corridors based on high pedestrian crash trends

• Multi-disciplinary team gives broader perspective on issues

• Lack of good guidance on what to do if there are low

pedestrian volumes but high pedestrian crash rates

• Suburban, high speed corridors:

• Should do, but less than desirable effectiveness in crash reduction measured to date:

• New crosswalks with pedestrian signals (full traffic signal or HAWKs)

• Relocate bus stops if feasible

• Roadway lighting

• Median refuge areas

• Expected increased effectiveness:

• Pedestrian barriers
