This seminal collection of silver accessories from Peddada, celebrates our human impulse to explore, transform, and renew the world. Where the Japanese Zen aesthetics searches for grace in the accidental and incidental beauty -- Peddada seeks beauty, in the deliberations of the labyrinthine mind. Forms that reflect the seamless sublimation of socio-cultural artifacts and achievements that represent our collective consciousness. Duality and multiple fucntionality meet in a Shivaesque dance of creation, deconstruction, and reinvention that flouts conventional boundaries separating stasis and movement, literal from abstract, profound from commonplace. Reversibility and inversion are recurring themes as, for example, a vase inspired by Galileo’s telescope inverts to become an anthropomorphic serving pedestal. Or the Acrobat, holding up spheres with candles and flowers, then, reversing to a tall stoic vase.

Some designs are destined to complement, others to command. PhiladelphiaThis form was tough to pull together -- like that Congress of 1787. Did you notice the Eagle spout?

GangaThe mythological name for eternity in India. Ancient grindstones, chakras and ceremonies are evoked in this form.

PlatoonSalutation to a Teutonic creation -- that appears deceptively simple, but was incredibly difficult to craft.

ArnoThis decanter evokes the mechanical imagery of medieval draw bridges -- Da Vinci’s repertoire.
