Cadre/Impose Rotational Restrictions
![Page 9: Peanut Weed Control Update - 2011 (County Extension Agents) Eric P. Prostko Professor and Extension Weed Specialist Department of Crop & Soil Sciences](https://reader034.vdocuments.mx/reader034/viewer/2022051215/56649d3e5503460f94a16c55/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
If growers cannot or will not use Cadre…...• weed control costs will probably be higher
• purple nutsedge will not be controlled
• Dual Magnum ($10-14/A) but not as effective. Generic metolachlors are cheaper but may not last as long ($5-6/A).
• Strongarm + Valor
• Other POST herbicides (Basagran, Blazer, Cobra, Storm) are effective but have some weaknesses and no residual
![Page 10: Peanut Weed Control Update - 2011 (County Extension Agents) Eric P. Prostko Professor and Extension Weed Specialist Department of Crop & Soil Sciences](https://reader034.vdocuments.mx/reader034/viewer/2022051215/56649d3e5503460f94a16c55/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
“Cadre-Free” Weed Control Programs
• Program 1
– Prowl or Sonalan – PPI/PRE
– Valor (3 oz/A) + Strongarm (0.23 oz/A) – PRE
– Cobra or Ultra Blazer + Dual Magnum – POST
• Program 2
– Prowl or Sonalan – PPI/PRE
– Gramoxone + Storm + Dual Magnum – EPOST
– Cobra or Ultra Blazer + Dual Magnum – POST
• 2,4-DB as needed in both programs for sicklepod. Will likely need 2 applications.

Pigweed Control is not impossible!!!!
Common Reasons for Failure:1) did not start clean2) did not use a residual3) residual did not get activated4) POST applications are too late5) short arms and deep pockets
