THE PITTSFIELD PEAKS DEATH RACEThe Annual Race Challenge in the Hills of Vermont
On June 21, 2008, there is a race that challenges contestants to do much more than simply cross the finish-line, a race that only 4 people have successfully finished. To win you must have the resolve, courage, and sheer will to defeat the elements, both natural and man-made. We're talking about the barbed wire, mud boggin', wood choppin', tunnel diggin', deep-water divin', running, crawling, crying, screaming, doubtful you'll finish but be proud of yourself for trying race. Enthusiasts and participants refer to it as the Pittsfield Peaks Ultra Challenge Death Race.
Riverside Farms the popular New England wedding destination in conjunction with Peak Adventures will host the race. Participants will tackle obstacles in the hills of Pittsfield, Vermont, over a 10-mile course beginning. Racers should expect to
be up well before the break of dawn, as a pre-race meeting will be held at 1 a.m. with the starting gun going off at 3 a.m.
Any participant, who can conquer the course and cross the finish line, whether triumphantly or on hands and knees, will be welcomed with a purse of at lease $2,000.00 which will be divided amongst the top finishers in a manner "to be determined". Also available to finishers will be unique awards to recognize the magnitude of their accomplishment.
This event welcomes the community to cheer on participants, meet new and old friends while enjoying the beautiful town of Pittsfield and the gorgeous venues that Riverside Farm has.
