PDS

What is PDS?

The Product Development System (PDS) is a web tool designed to allow for the organization and creation of products among various partners and Business Units within Mondial Assistance. PDS, as it will be referred to throughout this document, will allow for a detailed breakdown of the various products offered through clients and Business Units and will assist in keeping up with the ever increasing changes. PDS consists of key product management functions like product creation, partner maintenance, pricing strategy maintenance, coverage information, subscription information and exceptions handling. The system is developed with the flexibility to accommodate need based creation of insurance products specific to a partner and following a specific pricing strategy.

Navigation Overview

To efficiently navigate through PDS, it is important to understand the fundamentals of using the

application. This includes logging in and out from the application and how to navigate through the web-

pages.

Logging in to PDS

PDS Toolbar The PDS toolbar has various options that can be used in order to create and maintain products and pricing.

• Home

o Will always bring the user back to the Home Page

• Partner o Contains information specific to the Business Unit, including maximum age limits that

define a child, infant, and adult and what groups of insurance are sold

• Products o Specific information on products that are sold through the Business Unit, including

pricing

• Pricing o Pricing for all products can be found here

• Users o Shows all users that have access to PDS, including their privileges in PDS

• Privileges o Reflects what privileges each PDS “role” has access to

• Coverages o Contains coverage information specific to the Business Unit

• Subscriptions o Contains specific information related to product rules

• Exceptions o Contains specific messages that can appear on the website

• Logout o This will log the user out of the system

Help Function There is now a help function within PDS. If you click on the Help link PDS related documents will be available for viewing.

Partner Tab In order to navigate through PDS, a partner must be selected. In this case, a partner is a Mondial Business Unit. Once on the Partner Tab, you can search, view, or edit the Partner Tab for specific information. In order to expand the page and see the sub-tabs, either double –click on the partner name or click on the Edit link.

The sub-tabs will be displayed for viewing and editing.

Please note that the Partner Information should not be edited by the Business Units. This information is created when the individual Business Unit is created in PDS.

Currency Map This section allows the Business Unit to indicate what currency their products will be sold in. The currency automatically defaults to USD, so it is each Business Unit’s responsibility to change their currency and Business Unit.

This section allows the Business Unit to indicate what language(s) will be used in PDS. The languages should at a minimum include the native language plus English.

Age Band This is where the Business Unit will specify the designated ages of infants, children, adults, and seniors.

Groups This section of PDS allows the Business Units to detail what types of insurance they will sell through the website. The Business Unit can add as many groups as needed.

Marketing Discount Business Units sometimes offer discounts on their insurance products. If there is a discount offered this tab must be completed detailing what products are receiving a discount and how much the discount is. A user can also search and see what promotions are already in PDS. To search, enter the criteria and click Search.

Products Tab The Products section within PDS will allow the Buiness Unit to search, view, and edit existing products. Users can also add new insurance products that they would like to sell.

Searching for a Product To search for a partuicular product or group of products, complete the criteria you wish to search for and click Search. Searches can be completed using a combination of any of the fields or with as few as one field. Once the criteria has been entered, click Search. Any products that match the criteria entered will be returned.

If you wish to view all products in PDS for the designated Business Unit, simply click Search without completing any of the fields.

Viewing a Product To view or edit a product, either double-click on the product name or click the Edit button.

Information Tab This section allows the Business Unit to specify specific information about the product they are selling including the product name, product code, and the type of pricing strategy that will be used.

Currency/Trip Cost Mapping Tab This tab allows the Business Units to specify what currency the insurance product will be sold in. There has been a new search function added at the top of the page which allows a search to be performed using currency and status. To use this function, click on the Search button after entering the criteria.

Coverage Information Mapping Tab The information located on this tab ties back to the Coverage tab on the main menu. It reflects not only the benefits associated with a product, but also coverage amounts. On this tab, you can search for specific coverages rather than having to look through all coverages attached to the product. To search, complete the criteria (such as language, status, coverage type, etc.) and click the Search button.

The sort orders of the coverage can also be maintained from this page by clicking on the Manage Sort Order hyperlink.

Select the language and all of the coverages for that language will be displayed. To change the sort order, click on the row you want to move and then click the First, Up, Down, or Last buttons on the right.

Language Mapping Tab This section shows the formal name of the products the Business Unit sells. The list will be in both English and the native language. There has been a new search function added at the top of the page which allows a search to be performed using language, product name, and status. To use this function, click on the Search button after entering the criteria.

Subscription Information Mapping Tab The information located on this tab ties back to the Subscription tab on the main menu. It reflects special information/rules related to the product. For example, how a trip is defined. There has been a new search function added at the top of the page which allows a search to be performed using criteria such as subscription type, description, and language. To use this function, click on the Search button after entering the criteria

The sort orders of the subscriptions can also be maintained from this page by clicking on the Manage Sort Order hyperlink.

Select the language and all of the subscriptions will be displayed for that language. To change the sort order, click on the row you want to move and then click the First, Up, Down, or Last buttons on the right.

Pricing Strategy Rule Tab This tab is where the pricing strategy of the product is entered. This tab must be completed prior to entering any pricing for the product. There has been a new search function added at the top of the page which allows a search to be performed using criteria such as pricing type and band type.

The sort orders of the pricing rules can also be maintained from this page by clicking on the Manage Sort Order hyperlink.

All of the pricing rules will be displayed. To change the sort order, click on the row you want to move and then click the First, Up, Down, or Last buttons on the right. By doing this, a user no longer has to enter numbers to determine what rule will be applied first

Daughter Window Tab This is where documents that are displayed on the website are listed (for example, terms and conditions.) The search function can be used on this page by limiting the search criteria to a specific URL.

Exception Mapping The information located on this tab ties back to the Exceptions tab on the main menu. It lists in both English and the native language which rules apply to the product. If a customer attempts to purchase an insurance policy and all of the pre-determined rules are not met, then an error message will be generated on the website. There has been a new search function added at the top of the page which allows a search to be performed using criteria such as exception type, description, and language. To use this function, click on the Search button after entering the criteria

Marketing Discount Tab If there are any discounts or promotions being offered on the product, the Business Unit can indicate it here.

Zone Country Map Tab This section of PDS allows the Business Unit to specify what countries fall into specific zones. There has been a new search function added at the top of the page which allows a search to be specific countries and zones. To use this function, click on the Search button after entering the criteria

There has been an additional enhancement added in the Product Zone Map tab. By clicking on the Add New Zone Country Map hyperlink, a zone can now be copied, instead of having to be re-entered for each product.

From here you can copy a zone from another product by selecting the zone and select which product to copy it from.

Group Map Tab This section reflects what group(s) a product is part of. Searches can be done by group as well as by status.

The sort orders of the group can also be maintained from this page by clicking on the Manage Sort Order hyperlink.

All of the products associated with the group will be displayed. To change the sort order, click on the row you want to move and then click the First, Up, Down, or Last buttons on the right.

Product Option This section of PDS allows the Business Unit to enter the pricing brackets (if applicable) and pricing for specific age groups such as child, infant, adult, and senior.

Pricing Tab The Pricing Tab is now separate from the Products Tab. Buiness Units can now search, view, and edit existing pricing from this section of PDS.

Searching for a Product To search for a product complete the required fields, Product and Pricing. Once the criteria has been entered, click Search. The pricing that matches the criteria entered will be returned.

Viewing Pricing The pricing associated with selected product will be displayed. PDS will allow the user to view up to 1000 rows of pricing for each product. To edit how many rows can be viewed at once, click on the Show Rows button.

A user can also select what date range they want to view pricing for. When looking for past or future pricing, edit the dates and click Search.

Editing Pricing To edit pricing either double-click on the pricing row or click the Edit button.

Not all fields are required. Whether a field is required will depend on the pricing strategy rule created for the product. If a field is not required it will appear grayed out.

If the same pricing will apply to all age bands, click the Copy to all Ages button after entering in the infant price. This will copy the infant pricing and place it in the other pricing fields as well.

Copying Pricing

Once a pricing band has been created, it can be copied. In order to do this, click the copy button next to the band you wish to copy.

From here, the information can be modifyied as needed. For example, all that may need to be edited are the days and prices. Simply change the Trip Days From and Trip days To. If the prices are all the same for each age group, enter the new pricing next to Infant Price and click Copy to all ages.

Using the Copy option will prevent a user from having to enter all required information repeatedly when setting up a product.

Deleting Pricing To delete a row of pricing, click the Delete button.

A pop up box will appear asking if you are sure you want to delete the pricing.

Exporting Pricing to Excel

To export pricing to an excel spread sheet click on the Export to Excel button.

This will allow a user to select what products and pricing rules they want to view in an excel spread sheet.

Once all desired products and pricing rules have been selected, click the Export to Excel button.

Coverages Tab The Coverages section within PDS allows the Buiness Unit to set up the various defintions on insurance products they wish to sell. When a Business Unit is adding a coverage that applies to their products, they need to add them in English as well as the native language.

Searching for a Coverage To search for a particular coverage or group of coverages, complete the criteria you wish to search for and click Search. Searches can be completed using a combination of any of the fields or with as few as one field. Once the criteria has been entered, click Search. Any coverages that match the criteria entered will be returned.

If you wish to view all coverages in PDS for the designated Business Unit, simply click Search without completing any of the fields.

Editing a Coverage To edit a coverage, either double-click on the specific coverage or click the Edit button.

A Business Unit can now view all products that have been created in PDS and select to have the covearge apply to them by clicking on the Show Products button.

Exception Tab The Exception section within PDS allows the Business Unit to set up messages that will appear on the website for specific products they wish to sell. If a customer selects to purchase a particular product and the guidelines for purchasing this product are not met, an error message will appear on the website. This message will advise the customer why they can not purchase the product or advise them what required information is missing. When a Business Unit is adding the exception that applies to their products, they need to add them in English as well as the native language.

Searches can be completed using a combination of any of the fields or with as few as one field. Once the criteria has been entered, click Search. Any subscriptions that match the criteria entered will be returned.

Editing an Exception To edit an exception, either double-click on the specific subscription or click the Edit button.

System Administration New users can be added to PDS when needed. Additionally, user privileges/roles can be modified as needed.

User Roles There are different roles created in PDS that a user could be assigned to. These roles determine what access a user has in the system. For example, does a user need to be able to modify information in PDS or does a particular user require just access to view information? Admin

• Allows the user full access to PDS. The user will be able to: o View all information about the designated Business Unit o Add/modify information involving the designated Business Unit o Assign additional users for the Buisness Unit

Normal

• Allows the user full access to PDS. The user will be able to: o View all information about the designated Business Unit o Add/modify information involving the designated Business Unit

Read Only

• Allows the user full access to PDS. The user will be able to: o View all information about the designated Business Unit

Privileges If needed, the privileges of the assigned roles in PDS can be modified. This however, should not be modified by anyone except for AGA Interactive. If there are questions or changes that you have, please contact AGA Interactive.

Searching for a User To search for a user, complete the criteria you wish to search for and click Search. Searches can be completed using a combination of any of the fields, such as name/email and Business Unit, or with as few as one field. Once the criteria has been entered, click Search. Any users that match the criteria entered will be returned.

How to Create a New User If a new user is needed in PDS, please notify AGA Interactive. Be sure to provide the user’s full name, work e-mail address, and what type of privledges the new user should have. Once the user has been added to PDS an email will be sent to the new user advising them of their access.

Forgetting Your Password If you forget your password, click on the Forgot password hyperlink.

You will be prompted to enter your User Name, click Next.

Enter the required information:

• Secret Answer

• New Password

• Text Verification (this is case sensitive)
