Thank you for partnering with Adelphoi in the past. Together, we will continue to be a strong, effective, unequivocal advocate for the children, teens and families of our region.

Sincerely,

Nancy Kukovich CEO

Dear Friends,

I’m happy to report that Adelphoi remained strong during the past year. Our programs reached out to and bettered the lives of over 2,500 children, teens and their families. Our wide-reaching regional in-fluence with other social service organizations and governmental agencies tasked with parallel mis-sions speaks to the leadership role Adelphoi has willingly shouldered almost since its inception.

At the same time, as Adelphoi enters its 5th decade, we are facing a period of both significant challenges and abundant opportunities. Along with the overall growth in the number of individuals served by Adel-phoi, other factors are changing the way Adelphoi carries out its mission. Managed care, shrinking state and federal budgets, emerging best practic-es in juvenile corrections, and geographically dis-persed services have all contributed to the need for new methods of serving the same population more effectively.

But our focus on serving children, teens, and fami-lies in need continues to be our guiding principle.

In the coming months you will learn about Phase II of Adelphoi’s Campaign for Excellence. It is the continued embodiment of the unwavering mission of Adelphoi and was developed to transform our current challenges into opportunities for the future. We remain committed to the mission that you have steadfastly supported for over 40 years.

Community services projects are an important component of Adelphoi’s treatment programs. These service activities help youth understand the importance of giving back to the community and assisting others. Youth participate in various projects including shoveling sidewalks, mowing lawns, and working at local fish fries, as well as working with many local organizations including Latrobe’s Revitalization Project and Laurel Faith in Action.

Adelphoi has expanded its PRIDE Vocational Program with the addition of a new career track: Auto Detailing. The program will provide students with the knowledge and skills to prepare them to enter the workforce as a detail technician. At the completion of the program, students will be able to wash, wax, clean, and inspect vehicles for minor deficiencies.

Adelphoi’s PRIDE Program prepares students for the world of work and helps them achieve their highest potential by offering career exploration in various trades and instruction in employability skills. Currently, the program offers vocational training in Small Engine Technology, Horticulture, Culinary Arts, Emergency Medical Response, and Computer Technology.
