THE MAMIE MILLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY FOR HIGH
SCHOOL GRADUATES FROM PEACH, MACON OR TAYLOR COUNTIES. FOR
AN APPLICATION, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR HIGH SCHOOL COUNSELOR OR
CONTACT A COMMITTEE MEMBER LISTED ON THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.
THE CRITERIA FOR THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT INCLUDE:
Submission of high school transcript showing a Minimum 2.5
gpa (on a 4.0 scale)
Submission of SAT or ACT Scores meeting the criteria for
admissions to Fort Valley State University as a regular Freshman
Possible interest in majoring in teacher education at FVSU
MEET THE SUBMISSON DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 28, 2020
The Scholarship will be announced on March 20, 2020.

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA AND TIMELINE

Scholarship applications are being distributed on February 5, 2020. The deadline for receipt of
completed applications is February 28, 2020.
The successful applicant will be notified by March 20, 2020 and the award will be presented
officially at the honoree’s school on his/her high school’s Honors Day Ceremony. The successful
candidate will receive a check in the amount of $ 1000 pending documentation of matriculation
at Fort Valley State University in the Fall Semester, 2020.

Our organization is eager to identify a deserving high school student
who is eligible to receive our Mamie Miller Memorial scholarship award.
This scholarship honors the memory of Mrs. Mamie Miller, a dedicated
educator, a community servant and the founder and organizer of the
Peach County Retired Educators Association (PCREA).
To this end, I am enclosing the application form and a description of the
scholarship and the process for completing and submitting the
scholarship application. We are asking your assistance in distributing this
information to deserving students. Please also encourage them to
submit a completed application packet.
