OUR HISTORY
Dear PCPR Members and Friends,
For over 20 years, Philadelphia College Prep Roundtable (PCPR) has a taken a deliberate stand in leadership and advocacy for college access and success in the Philadelphia region. PCPR is devoted to supporting professionals in the college success pipeline, through the utilization of industry recognized, first-rate standards and practices that serve the education community.
The PCPR network, initially comprised of a few dedicated professionals who joined together for the purpose of improving equity and access in education, has evolved into a thriving membership organization of individuals and groups committed to the larger mission of “Investing in Professionals Who Invest in Students”. The culmination of effort, energy, and spirit has propelled us into the next generation of the organization, PCPR 2.0.
Philadelphia College Prep Roundtable expresses its deepest thanks and appreciation to all who have volunteered their time and talents, and supported our efforts through generous in-kind contributions and donations. We are equally committed to the growth and sustainability of PCPR, and to you, our valuable shareholders. This 2013-2015 financial report will provide you with a comprehensive snapshot of our ongoing efforts. We are enthusiastic about the years ahead of us, and strive to create a transformational and lasting impact on the education community at large.
Thomas Butler, Director of Advancement and OperationsPhiladelphia College Prep Roundtable
By supporting a community of college access and success practitioners, Philadelphia College Prep Roundtable is a unique initiative with
tremendous potential for creating meaningful improvements in the opportunity for all students to enroll and succeed in college.

OUR HISTORY
Philadelphia College Prep Roundtable emerged in 1992,
from a group of committed college access and success practitioners who began networking, with the
intent of sharing information that could maximize their own knowledge and better support students’ college aspirations.
Today, our network is still driven by a network of of practitioners in the education community, and participants from organizations throughout the region.
PCPR hosts monthly meetings on campuses throughout the region to address common concerns that include academic preparedness, college entrance criteria, parental involvement, and other strategies to enhance the effectiveness of college planning in the School District of Philadelphia and neighboring districts.
PCPR regularly updates our network on state, federal, and local policies affecting college access and success. In the early 1990’s, PCPR was initially comprised of 7 individuals. Over the past 2 decades, PCPR has supported more than 750 professionals as part of its network, and over 2,000 individuals from a wide range of businesses, higher ed institutions, K-12 agencies, and non-profit organizations .

OUR SERVICES
FOCUS
The main objective of our work is to ensure the success of student attainment of a college education. PCPR’s focus has expanded beyond information sharing, to a broader range of activities for supporting practitioners. Today, PCPR’s focus is primarily on three strands of work:
• To develop and strengthen a community of practitioners in the Philadelphia region through networking and professional development opportunities.
• To contribute our expertise to school district and city-wide conversations which impact college access and success strategies and practices.
• To advocate for stronger college access and success guidance for students in the Philadelphia region.
To effectively execute our ideas and strategies, the
Philadelphia College Prep Roundtable convenes practitioners across the city through monthly meetings, online updates, and unique professional development opportunities. Additionally, PCPR hosts an annual conference, to educate its members on industry trends, best practices, and effective strategies. PCPR embodies a set of core values and priorities that are critical to the support and development of a strong college pursuant culture.
While upholding strong ethical standards in support of professional responsibility and accountability for students seeking post-secondary options, PCPR is the premiere network of professionals that continue to improve the lives of individuals to thrive and adapt to a complex and global society.
