Characteristics of diamond types

Along with the improvements in producing processes and difficulties thatarise from machining new and advanced materials, there is anincreasing demand for new forms of cutting tools that go beyond the conventional cutting tools such as those made out of high speed steel, tungsten carbides,cermets, and ceramics.
Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD), is a synthetic diamond productthat is produced by sintering selected diamond particles with ametal matrix using very sophisticated temperature and highpressure technology.

The PCD is by its nature, high in uniform hardness, and alsomore abrasive and shock resistant in all directions than naturaldiamonds because of its random-oriented structure of thediamond particles.
Polycrystalline Cubic Boron Nitride (PCBN) is an artificially synthesized material, its hardness is exceeded only by the diamond. However, unlike diamond, PCBN is stable under conditions of high temperature (up to 1000°c), normally seen when machining hardened ferrous or super alloy materials. PCBN tools permit metal cutting by feed and speed that are much higher than conventional cutting tools.

. Installaion of CartridgeInstall the adjust bolt on the cutter body, and insert the cartridge. After then, gently tightening the Clamp bolt.
. Installaion of boltWhen tightening, secure the cartridge by pressing it downward. And using a torque wrench, temporarily tighten the Clamp bolt 3N.m.
. Cutting edge height adjustmentTurn the adjustment bolt and adjust so that the height of the front cutter is -10 from the target value.
. Final adjustmentUsing a torque wrench, tighten the Clamp Bolt to 10N.m. And turn the adjustment bolt, then adjust to the target height.
