Incepted in 1975, The Pennsylvania Coalition
Against Rape (PCAR) uses its voice to challenge public attitudes,
raise public awareness, and effect critical changes in public policy, protocols, and responses to sexual violence.
PCAR works in concert with its statewide network of 51 sexual assault centers
serving all 67 counties in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. These 51
centers provide counseling services, education programs, and prevention efforts
in local communities.5
