n !/ Cebruary, S"< Seri Pelangi hosted a gathering to entertain (2 orphans

fro# ;a#ai rphanage. The 'hildren arri&ed in two buses hired by the s'hool. Their

ages ranged fro# ) to 1!.

The students put up bright and 'olorful balloons along the 'orridor to the s'hool

hall to wel'o#e and 'heer the 'hildren. The 'hildren were first treated to a deli'ious

breakfast. %fter that they were taken to the s'hool hall for a'ti&ities.

% fun3filled day of a'ti&ities had been 'ondu'ted. The first e+'iting a'ti&ity was

designing T3shirts. %nother a'ti&ity was #aking key 'hains fro# re'y'led #aterials. The

purpose of the a'ti&ities was to bring out 'reati&ity in the 'hildren.

The students were di&ided into groups. They were assigned different

responsibilities. So#e looked after the younger 'hildren, so#e guided the older 'hildren

in the 'reati&e a'ti&ities while others took 'harge of food and drinks.

%t the end of the day when the orphans had left, the students felt delighted. They

had #ade the orphans happy. They belie&ed that they 'ould #ake a differen'e in

others@ li&es.

This 'o##unity ser&i'e has enabled the students to appre'iate the less fortunate

people. Through the a'ti&ities they ha&e learnt to be #ore responsible and 'aring.
