When Peter Basso Associates was founded in 1990, a small staff provided only mechanical engineering services until electrical engineering services were added in 1991. Today we have a staff of over 100 who provide comprehensive MEP engineering, commissioning, and architectural lighting design services. The commitment to quality work and personal attention to clients has never wavered since the inception of the fi rm.

In 2002, Peter Basso Associates became 100% employee-owned through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Being a company of owners means that everyone involved with a project literally has a vested interest in its successful outcome.

Peter Basso Associates excels in the design of high performance buildings that are functional, energy effi cient and environmentally conscious. As mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems engineers, we incorporate sustainability into each of our designs, working closely with the architect and other disciplines to optimize system design, minimize long-term energy use and deliver a healthy, productive indoor environment.

Providing MEP Engineering, Energy Management Consulting, Architectural Lighting Design, and Commissioning services Peter Basso Associates is organized around market sectors, allowing our engineers to forge deeper relationships with and to provide specialized expertise to clients in each area.

We are leaders in our use of Building Information Modeling technology for mechanical and electrical engineering design, using current versions of Autodesk AutoCAD MEP and Autodesk Revit MEP. New technology – whether it is hardware, software, or methodology – is analyzed and integrated into our design process on an on-going basis.

Using 3D technology to place accurately-sized equipment, ductwork, piping and fi ttings into a virtual building is a time-saving solution that provides the building owner with a more valuable design that can accurately locate space requirements, and fi nd possible interferences and other potentially expensive-to-correct problems before construction even begins.
