Our Services With careful stewardship of the financial assistance we receive, we are able to provide award winning services such as these:

Residential Care The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches is nationally known for our residential education campuses which offer a stable home and safe place for children to live. “Cottage Parents” help each child develop a strong sense of responsibility and respect through the “work, study, play and pray” philosophy. This, along with counseling, academic schooling and other services, helps deserving boys and girls develop strong values and positive behavior as they become productive young men and women.

Family Counseling The Youth Ranches offers home-based family counseling services, family life education and parenting classes. A statewide network of Family Case Managers helps facilitate the healing of Florida’s families.

Camping Services The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches has two locations which provide a positive camping experience for many of Florida’s deserving children. Our camp theme is, “Law Enforcement are Your Friends.” Our counselors and law enforcement volunteers take the time to make each boy and girl feel special and ensure they have a great camp experience. Canoeing, archery and swimming, as well as many other esteem building recreational activities, allow boys and girls the opportunity to participate in groups, building teamwork and positive peer communications skills. Camping services also offers special community or school programs which are aimed at reducing violence, racial tensions and negative behavior and increasing communication, cooperation, and cultural understanding.

An Often Repeated Story Today, somewhere in Florida, there’s a young child sitting on a curb with their head in their hands. Things haven’t been going well. They’re being picked on at school. Their grades are falling. They’re mixed up with the wrong crowd. Most kids would turn to their parents for help, but this child’s parents aren’t there to turn to. This child only has one parent, a dad. The father has custody, but isn’t home when school lets out. This father works two jobs to make ends meet. They are scared, confused and angry and don’t know what to do. They didn’t ask for this. The situation isn’t their fault. They’re just a kid. And they need help.

A Happy Ending? There can be a happy ending to this story, and the ending involves YOU. The Sheriffs of Florida realized the need in our State to help these children – a way to help them gain control of their lives. They established the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches. The Florida Sheriffs took on the responsibility to create a safe place for Florida’s children to receive the help and guidance they need but, they can’t carry the burden alone. Florida’s children need you too.
