OUR LIFE TOGETHER

MUSIC INTERLUDE

TO GIVE PRAISE TO GOD

CALL TO WORSHIP from Psalm 89

I will sing of your steadfast love, O Lord, forever, with my mouth I will proclaim your

faithfulness to all generations.

I declare that your steadfast love is established forever; your faithfulness

is as firm as the heavens.

You said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one. I will establish your de-

scendants forever.”

O Lord of hosts, who is as mighty as you, O Lord? Your faithfulness sur-

rounds you.

* HYMN 265 “Jesus Shall Reign, Where’re the Sun”

* PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Heavenly Father, you have loved us with an everlasting love, but we have

gone our own way and broken your laws. For the sake of your Son who died

for us, forgive us, cleanse us, and change us. By your Holy Spirit enable us

to live for you and to please you more and more, through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

(Please pause for a moment of silent confession.)

Genesis 1-6 “History, Science, Theology, Mythology, Aliens or God’s

message to His people and the world?”

Led by Karen Schmidt

This course helps us understand the Bible’s primeval story from

the perspective of the people and the cultures of the earliest

civilizations. As we learn how God was revealing Himself to the

ancient world, we will be learning how our own culture is impact-

ing modern perceptions of this sacred text. This 6 part study

will address all of the primary questions about Genesis 1-6 that

helped form our New Testament theology.

month of September they will be collecting:

CANNED JUICE AND CEREAL

Thank You!

FREE PICTURES – As the Paxton Historical Committee continues to comb through and

organize our archives, we have found hundreds of pictures of Church School Class and

Youth Outings. Many had extra prints that are not needed by us. Over the next weeks,

we will be displaying groupings of the extras – WE CONTINUE TO ADD NEW ONES

EACH WEEK. You may find a friend, child, or even you among them. Feel free to

help yourself. After September 23rd, those not taken will be discarded.

SHORT TERM HELPERS NEEDED! In September, the Paxton Historical Committee is

organizing our bulletin collection from years past. It would involve checking to make

sure each bulletin for the year is in correct order and noting any missing bulletins. Our

first meeting will be Monday, September 17th from 9:00 – 11:00. A second meeting will

be Wednesday, September 26th from 3:00 – 5:00. All meetings will be in the downstairs

Fellowship Hall. Even if you could help just once, it would be appreciated. Contact

Norm Daniels [email protected] or 717-561-0613.

The Paxtang Historical Society Annual Meeting – October 1st (Monday) 6:30PM will

be here at Paxton Presbyterian Church with guest speaker Jim Bruce. Light re-

freshments will be served at the meeting. All are welcome to attend. Jim Bruce will be

speaking on The Paxton Rangers: July 11, 1763 – August 5, 1764.

Please join us again for Pilates and Prayer, Mondays at 6:30 pm at Paxton Presbyte-rian Church. Free will offering will support mission projects. Please note, there will be no class Monday, October 8th.
