Contemporary & Traditional Glass Rooms
We specialise in light, open glass rooms using large scale glass, creating rooms where it seems there are no sides. From the inside, the internal frame helps with this illusion by concealing many of the joins in the glass.
Though many of our rooms are of a ‘lean-to’ type construction, many styles are achievable and the basic idea of an internal frame covered in a ‘glass box’ is very adaptable. We also produce a range of glass basins and a glass bath in our glass studio.

sliding doors
Full height panels can be openings in your glass room. If space allows, the openings can be very wide, up to 2.5m. The door furniture is bespoke stainless steel, the glass sits in a wheelhousing which has heavy duty bearings to give an easy glide along the base track. The guide rail at the top has a frictionless bearing, a special nylon block which slides smoothly on the steel track.
adjustable brackets
Green oak is a freshly cut wood and as it dries there is a small amount of natural shrinkage (longitudinal shrinkage is 0.002% = 2mm/ m). This movement can be taken up with our unique adjustable brackets. Included in our price is a site visit after 12 months to check on the frame and make any necessary adjustments.
seamless glass wall join
Where the glass butts up to a wall, we cut a slot into the wall and then, very carefully with the crane, slot the glass into the wall. This can be quite a stressful manoeuvre, but the resulting seamless change from wall to glass is quite amazing.
green oak timber frame
All traditional mortise and tenon pegged joints. The oak is sourced from sustainable forestry.
We use adjustable stainless steel brackets to accommodate any movement in the green oak.
The timber frame is made in our workshop by local craftsmen and then assembled on-site, this usually takes 2-4 days.
double glazed units
As standard we use a ‘planitherm’ coating which gives superior heat retention.
We use structural glazing units which means the units are strong enough not to need framing on all four sides.
Many coating options are available with the units, ‘solar control’ to reduce heat coming in, and ‘Activ’, Pilkingtons self cleaning glass.
single glazed sides
To have a real ‘open’ feel, single glazing can be used on the sides, this requires hardly any metal framing so has a much cleaner look.
Single glazing does lose heat more quickly than double glazed units.
We specialise in large glazing which keep joins and framing to a minimum. All our buildings are bespoke and are designed to fit
sympathetically onto your home.

Fitting
As the structural units are made from thick toughened glass they are too heavy to fit by hand so we use a small ‘spider’ crane and ‘sucker-lifter’.
Planning permission is not always needed, this is dependent on size, location, impact on neighbours and previous additions to property, so we would need to discuss this with you before we could advise you further.
We can apply for planning permission on your behalf and provide a specification for a local builder to do the ground-works, foundation and base.
If you wish to apply for planning permission yourselves that is of course fine with us, we can also provide simple drawings free of charge to help with this. First though you would probably like to get a rough quote, this can done by phone (01766 512 652) or email. What we will need to know is floor size (see sample prices) how many glass sides, how many sliding panels. Also if you can email photos of the proposed site, that would really help but is not essential. With photos of your house we can do a 3D drawing showing what the glass room would look like superimposed on your house.

GLASS ROOM
When you have had a rough quote the next step would be a site visit to make sure the proposed design is suitable and that there is access for the crane.
After this a final quote and time schedule will be posted out to you.
