ASK THE QUESTIONS!

• What version of the Android O/S is

supported on the device?

• What are the security capabilities of that

O/S, with and without an MDM platform?

• What is the OEM‟s history of supporting

new releases?

• What is the Carrier‟s history of supporting

new releases?

Key Points to Take Home

1. Fragmentation will continue to pose challenges for Android adoption in the enterprise

2. Enterprise management capabilities on the native Android platform are weak and

inconsistent. Embracing Android as an “Enterprise” device absolutely requires the use of

a 3rd-party MDM solution.

3. SAP‟s Afaria is the strongest MDM solution in the market today for Android devices

4. Afaria can provide mobile security for both BYOD and corporate-owned Android scenarios

5. Afaria AES (Advanced Enterprise Security) provides enhanced security and control for

specific Android devices. The current relationship is with Samsung, and talks are

underway with other leading handset manufacturers

6. Afaria can be used to manage, provision, and configure both Enterprise (custom

developed) Android apps, and Google Play (aka Android Marketplace) apps

7. Afaria can be used to manage your entire population of mobile devices, including iOS

devices, Blackberries, and Windows-based laptops and tablets.
