The last 12 months have been tough and challenging but I’m pleased

to say that in spite of these circumstances we have made good

progress on several fronts.

The leadership in Thailand and India changed during the year with Jon

Pickford starting with us in Bangkok during September and Swatantra

Gagneja in Delhi earlier this month. We also opened a new branch in

Geebung, North Brisbane and a Joint Venture in the Gold Coast during

the year. With these two outlets in Queensland we now have 12 offices

in Australia. Unfortunately we had to shut down our operation in

Hervey Bay due to very tough operating conditions in that part of Queensland.

Hopefully the next year is going to be better and full of opportunities for us all. During 2012 we

have expanded and strengthened our Patton team so that in 2013 we have one of the very best

teams possible within our Industry to take Patton on to the new heights. We plan to take full

advantage of our strengths and expand our presence further in Australia, Thailand and India.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your efforts and support throughout the year.

Finally along with my family I'd like to wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year. Have a safe and enjoyable break over this festive season.

We are pleased to announce that during the month of

November we have opened a new JV in Queensland.

The company is Ozcold Pty Ltd trading as Patton Gold

Coast and will operate out of Southport covering all

areas of the Gold Coast region. This is a very exciting

time for our Australia growth and in line with our

expansion plans.

The new business is a JV between Patton Australia and

two partners who have been working on the Coast, Carol

Jackson and Tony Corbett. Carol has worked for many years in the refrigeration wholesaling

industry in Brisbane, Northern Rivers and the Gold Coast area. Tony is a qualified refrigeration

mechanic who has worked in wholesaling for several years in various parts of the country.

We look forward to a close association as we go from strength to strength.

Patton WA (Metjak) has relocated to a newer and much

bigger branch at 15 Pearson Way, Osborne Park, Perth.

Although this new setup is only a couple of kilometres

away from the previous it is more than double the size

with a big showroom and plenty of storage space.

The branch opening function, which was combined with

this year’s Christmas function, was held on Friday 23rd

November. This was a huge success with Robert

DiPierdomenico (Dipper) a former AFL star, as the guest

speaker. The function was attended by more than 130

guests mostly customers and a handful of suppliers.

On 5th December, Swatantra Gagneja, joined us as Managing Director for our India

Operations. Over the past 27 years Swatantra worked in the Indian HVAC&R industry in

various capacities. His last assignment was ‘Director Sales and Marketing’ working in the

field of precision air conditioning with ‘Stulz India’, a German Company. He started his career with

Voltas Limited, a Tata Group company and his last assignment with Voltas was as General

Manager.

Swatantra is experienced in setting up a Green Field Project in India. He was one of the key

members of the team that set up operations and manufacturing of an Italian company (Uniflair

India) from scratch in India and they achieved 10% market share within 3 years of its operations.

Swatantra has been spending December with Vinod Rekhi understanding the role and taking over the responsibilities.

Vinod, after being at the helm for 5 years since the inception of Patton India, retires on 31st December 2012. We would

like to take this opportunity of expressing our gratitude to Vinod for his contribution and support to Patton India and wish

him well with his upcoming retirement.

Message from Patton New Zealand GM

Another Christmas and the close of another year. 2012 has seen three retirements and

more long service awards, including 25 and 30 year milestones. The market has seen

closures of branches, not ours, and significant reduction in staffing levels. At Patton our

numbers remain constant overall.

We started a series of Road Shows promoting Patton products and reminding the market that we are

innovators, manufacturers, and represent and support best brands.

The much anticipated ETS system begins Jan 1st and is not going to cause the great escalation in costs

of refrigerant (right away), that was predicted by some. We have brought new Patton evaporators

to market and received orders for a new range of Pattonpak chillers. Even got some into Tasmania (West Island).

In the New Year we are rolling out the 5S system to all NZ branches and the New Look and Feel Website will debut. The IT

transformation for the group continues, like all things IT (and children) it can test the patience. The end game will be a

robust modern infrastructure, so hang in there.

We will have that hot summer this season; we will see our market get stronger along with our share of it. We are (still) the

best team, most technical, most ethical, and great people to deal with, besides.

We welcome our new General Manager for Patton Aero, Jon Pickford who joined us in September

2012. While Jon originates from Brisbane, he previously lived and worked in Asia in senior

management roles. For several years he had Bangkok as a base and travelled extensively while

working in Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines. Jon is fluent in the Thai language and has

a great understanding of various Asian cultures and customs.

We believe Jon will be a great asset to Patton Aero’s future success as he grows the manufacturing

facility and ASEAN market while focussing on expanding the product range, improving production

turnaround and producing quality products in record time with an increased team.

With this focus, Patton Thailand, recently made its first inroads into the heavily contested retail market of Thailand with its

first customer in the Foodland Supermarket group. This paves the way for future purchases by Foodland/Carrier Linde and

other major retailers who have always been seen as technology leaders.

As we move into 2013, Jo and Patton Aero are ready for the challenge! We wish him all the best.

As I am writing this in Brisbane we are experiencing the hottest December day for

10 years. A warm 39ºC !! Hopefully these temperatures will continue for the rest

of the summer and have a dramatic impact on our sales!

During May we had a stand at the ARBS exhibition held in Melbourne. This year we increased the

size of our stand and once again it was a great opportunity to showcase our ever increasing

range of capital equipment and we received positive comments from all those who attended. The

major event for us in the middle of the year was the introduction of the ‘Carbon tax’ and its

implications. There was a lot of discussion from all areas of the industry prior to July but after that

date it became business as usual at a higher cost.

In June we opened a new branch at Geebung, Brisbane North under the control of Grant Mitchell (Hammy) who moved from

Archerfield. This new branch provides a superior service to our existing north side customers and has opened up a large

array of new customers who are based in that area. We also opened up a new joint venture, Patton Gold Coast in

September with partners Tony Corbett and Carol Jackson.

Other personnel to join the team during the year were: Brett Santini - Sales Representative Adelaide; Jarrod Blakley -

Internal Sales/Store Archerfield; John Murray - Customer Services Geebung; Craig Alcorn - Account Manager Sydney;

Nikki McCarrey - Purchasing Archerfield.

We received a substantial order mid-year for Maxi Foods, a small supermarket chain in Victoria. The order consisted of

three refrigeration racks and a full range of evaporators. It was a major breakthrough to supply racks and ancillary

equipment for a new supermarket. 2012 has presented us with ongoing challenges in the marketplace but over the past few

months there have been signs all the efforts are starting to pay off. We hope this momentum will continue throughout the

summer and the rest of 2013.

On behalf of all in Australia I would like to wish all our Patton colleagues and families around the world a very Merry

Christmas and a safe and enjoyable festive and holiday season.

CHILLVENTA 2012 Jason Pearce, Craig Parker and Sameer Handa recently attended Chillventa 2012 in Nuremberg, Germany. The

international exhibition for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and heat pumps ran from 9th to 11th October with an

exhibitor record of 915 companies and 29,000 international visitors.

With only two solid days to get round the 915 exhibits it was full on catching up with our

suppliers and finding out about and discussing newest technologies, innovative products

and solutions for energy efficiency.

Following Chillventa the team travelled with Emerson Australia representatives to the

Copeland semi-hermetic compressor factory in Mikulov, Czech Republic for a one day tour

of the production line followed by training on the new Stream Semi-Hermetics, including a

strip down and rebuild of both 4 and 6 cylinder machines.

With over 40 hours in economy flights, including the odd missed flight, and a fair few hours of train and bus travel the guys

were pretty exhausted at the conclusion of the trip but gained some valuable time with our distant suppliers. The next

Chillventa will take place in Nuremberg from 14-16 October 2014.

TOP MODELS ON TOUR

The Patton Team took “The Next Top Model” show on the road to key customers in Whangarei, Auckland and Hamilton .

We presented three stunning new products (Top Models) to our contactor customers (and some key end users) and detailed

the imminent emission trading scheme impact on our industry. The new products included two new evaporator ranges we

added to the Patton built offering and demonstrated our continued commitment to manufacturing. The third new product was

a major step forward in compressor technology from Emerson, setting the way for greater efficiency and system control.

There has been much speculation around how the ETS will affect the refrigeration trade and users. We were able to put the

facts and answer the questions. Subsequent feedback has confirmed the success of the shows. We will continue through the

rest of the country in the coming months.

All new Patton “Dual Discharge” Unit Coolers Patton augments its formidable line-up of unit coolers with the new dual discharge

“D Series”.

The “D Series” is specifically designed for cooling areas requiring low

noise and lower air velocities. Ideally suited to situations where people

are working for long periods, as in food process areas, the “D Series” is

also aesthetically pleasing in an ‘easy to clean’ white ABS outer casing.

With sixteen models (8 high temp and 8 low temp) from 1.5 to 9.8 Kws the “D Series”

provides a great range of models to suit most mid-sized applications. Patton’s high quality

and reliability is built into the “D Series” with plenty of contractor focused features.

Features such as a dual hinged, fully reversible, drain tray. The drain tray has also been

designed to accommodate an internally mounted condensate pump for areas where

external condensate drainage is prohibitive.

Also provided are easily removable end covers for access to T.X Valve and electrics without the

need for drain tray removal. The fan motors, 350mm Ø, are also easily removed or accessed for

service without the need to remove or lower the drain tray via the simply fixed fan grill.

All fans are single phase 50/60Hz suitable and thus provide application options in our clients

many international markets.

After a busy and challenging year, Patton Australia has recently announced three promotional changes:

John McCarrey has moved from Queensland Sales Manager to National Sales Manager, based in Brisbane. While no two

branches are exactly alike, and each branch has its own unique challenges and rewards, it is important that all branches

are working to the same guidelines and objectives. John’s role will be to ensure that each branch is meeting this standard, is

running as efficiently as possible and sales staff are supported to achieve their goals.

Jason Pearce has been promoted from Sales Engineer to National Technical Manager based in Brisbane. Jason’s new role

will see him promoting new and existing products, whether they are new products developed by Patton themselves or new

products from other suppliers. Jason’s role will be to understand the product and pass that understanding on to our sales

team. Continual sharing of technical knowledge at all levels will be one of Jason’s most important roles in order to maintain

our Patton tradition of knowledge. In addition, Jason will also maintain his customer base in Queensland.

Andrew Galliano has been promoted from Sales Engineer to Victorian Sales Manager. Andrew’s new role will see him

oversee the three Victorian branches. Andrew comes from a very strong wholesale background and his natural leadership

abilities made him an easy choice for this role. Andrew’s job will be to grow the business in Victoria by encouraging and

focussing the sales team and backing them up with technical support. In addition Andrew will continue to grow his sound

personal customer base to ensure that Patton Victoria is ready to take the next step up.

NEWS FROM AUSTRALIA

BENDEX MELBOURNE Bendex Stainless Steel Fabricators provide refrigeration solutions to meet a wide range of

commercial needs from small cafes to major food manufacturing plants to other non-food

applications requiring refrigeration.

Founded in 1993, Bendex Stainless Steel is a family business owned by brothers Joe and

Frank Mancuso, based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. Bendex brand continues to

grow from strength to strength in which Patton Australia is proud to be their primary supplier.

Earlier this year, Bendex acquired a new client Melbourne Fresh Meats who opened a brand

new store within one of Melbourne’s largest shopping centre precincts – Highpoint Shopping Centre. Patton Australia

supplied the refrigeration equipment for this major project. The overall project was a remarkable success and Patton

Australia look forward to working with Bendex and delivering the utmost quality in both product and customer service.

Patton sponsors “Best Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2012”

Following on from a successful trip to Sri Lanka in April, Patton was invited to the official breakfast launch of the ‘Wanni

Dairying Re-generation Programme’ at Tear Fund’s Auckland HQ in August. The occasion also attracted delegates from The

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Fonterra and QPOD (associate partner on the project).

The event was organised to create awareness around the project and highlight the main aim ‘Generating sustainable incomes

for at least 1,500 farmers through supporting and developing their traditional small-scale dairying activities’.

On the morning Kevin Riddell (Tear Fund NZ) Ray Keane (Patton) and Paul Bosher

(QPOD) took to the stage to present the aims, key challenges and solutions

associated with the project. Ray highlighted his finding from his field research trip in

April and explained how d.think (design thinking) helped in the whole process. He

explained the importance of empathizing with the local Tamil people and how it was

achieved by four steps; expose, observe, engage and capture. Concluding his

presentation Ray described how Patton, using its refrigeration knowledge and

expertise, would focus on the early stages of the milk cold chain and break it down

into three key areas; the farmer, the milk collection point and the milk chilling centre.

The project is now in full swing and early 2013 promises to bring design,

prototyping and testing of ideas to help improve the ‘farmer to collection centre cold chain’ in northern Sri Lanka.

The Annual Indian Newslink Business Awards were held at the Sky City Convention Centre on

19th November. For the third consecutive year Patton has been the proud sponsor of the Best

Young Entrepreneur award. The lucky 2012 recipient was Atin Patel from Multitrade

International Limited.

In attendance among the honored guest were Mr. Gopalakrishna Gandhi, grandson of

grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, the acting Prime Minister Bill English, the Leader of the

Opposition and several Members of Parliament. Mr. Gopalakrishna Gandhi got the evening's

proceedings off to a flying start with a motivating and encouraging opening speech setting the tone to a great evening. The

evening was well attended by more than 700 people and glamour of the event was a reflection of the high caliber

sponsors, entrants and judging panel.

The Patton stand took prime position and we had the opportunity to display the latest Mitsubishi and evaporators range to

promote Patton brands. Our two minute corporate promotional video was shown followed by Sameer announcing and

presenting the award. Patton continues their support and is honored to be involved in such a prestigious event - we look

forward to a mutual relationship going forward.

Sri Lanka Milk Chilling Project – Phase 1.1

With the visit of Hon. David Carter, New Zealand Minister for Primary Industries, in

November 2012 both India and New Zealand are set to increase their mutual cooperation

in agriculture, horticulture, dairy and cold-chain sectors, where there is a large scope for

technology transfer to India. During the visit of the Minister the Confederation of Indian

Industry (CII) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Fielddays Society of New

Zealand to promote mutual business collaborations.

Offering cold-chain technology to the Indian market was one of the agendas on the

Minister’s visit to India. He personally met apple growers in Shimla, dairy farmers in

Chandigarh and meat industry people in New Delhi. Amongst a strong team of 21 business

delegates was our CEO, Sameer Handa, representing NZ expertise in refrigeration technologies. Swatantra Gagneja,

newly appointed MD of Patton Refrigeration India also joined the delegation.

Minister emphasized the need for a Free Trade Agreement between the two countries when he met the Commerce Minister

and Agriculture Minister of India. From the point of view of HVAC&R industry cold-chain is a sun-rise industry in India. A

company like Patton India has a lot to offer to India in terms of technology at a time when it is needed the most.

Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS)

From 1 January 2013 the Emissions Trading Scheme will include HFC refrigerant gases. This affects all our gases except

R22, which is reducing to zero imports in 2015

These gases are referred to as Synthetic Greenhouse Gasses as they contribute to the global warming effect. They become

liable to a cost (tax) at the time of importation. Each refrigerant has been assessed and ranked with a GWP (Global

Warming Potential) figure, using carbon dioxide as a base with a GWP of 1. R404a, for example, is rated 3,920

meaning it is 3,920 times more harmful to the environment than CO².

Importers (Patton) will need to buy carbon credits (Tax) the cost of which will be passed on to end users in the sale price of

the refrigerant. The credits will be surrendered to the government at a later date. One kilogram of R404a (GWP 3,920)

will incur 3.92 carbon credits, but under a “2 for 1” scheme this will be halved to 1.96 units, which will be bought at market

rates.

In Australia, the government scheme has caused prices to soar as their scheme is a pure levy/tax, paid like duty or GST,

raising prices more than 750%. Initial fears in our industry were that similar prices would be seen here, however, in the NZ

scheme at today’s carbon value (which will change with demand) the increase is more likely to be 60%.

Refrigerant Recovery

The ETS will also make it illegal to knowingly release any SGG

into the atmosphere. As a result it is likely that more refrigerant

will be recovered for destruction. This will mean a reduction in

the emission of these environmentally harmful gasses.

Patton is currently working with Recovery on a regional collection

program to commence early 2013. This is aimed at reaching

technicians working in smaller towns or rural areas who may not

be recovering refrigerant due to difficulties in getting cylinders to

Patton’s recovery depots. The depots of a national freight

company will be used as collection points, with cylinders being

freighted to Patton in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

CUSTOMER SERVICES MEETING 2012 5th and 6th of December were eventful days in the Patton NZ

Calendar. The annual Customer Service Meeting was organized to

facilitate knowledge sharing and team bonding.

The first day started early with a visit to a Pokeno dairy farm to gain

first-hand knowledge on the working of Patton products. The

refrigeration units, installed by O’Meara Refrigeration, plays a vital

role in preserving the freshness of the milk and for most of the

participants it was their first experience of seeing a fully functioning

PattonPak in a dairy set-up. The visit answered many questions but

also raised others. As Tony Lovell said “I’m sure everyone present would have gained

some knowledge”

After the morning session everyone assembled at Level 53 of the Sky Tower to enjoy

a lunch “in the clouds”. During the afternoon, suppliers Emerson and Rothenberger

presented product information sessions which helped to expand product and technical

knowledge. The day concluded at Waipuna Hotel where all participants joined the

Auckland staff in festive celebrations and a buffet dinner. The comedy item, with roles

played by Tuaine, Binesh, Sahil and Sameer made the proceedings more colourful.

The second day, by popular opinion, was the best part of the entire event, a quiz

competition hosted by Umesh and Vanessa. The major theme was Patton products and

processes resulting in added knowledge and fond memories. The team of Tony,

Natalie, Shane and Huiyan were crowned the winners and each took away an ultra-

cool Apple i pod.

The afternoon session also included a knowledge sharing segment in which the

Inventory Team discussed the intricacies of Stock Transfers. This was followed by

Sameer’s insightful talk on Patton’s way forward. The evening saw the Patton teams

racing along the Airport Oaks Go-Kart Circuit. The team of Peter Walden and Kenny

Johnston proved to be Red Bull Racing Incognito and were crowned winners.

Highlights were: the road trip and site visit, being together as a team, sharing

Christmas with Auckland staff and ending the 2 days with teams racing at Formula E.

Health and Safety It was said that the world is coming to end in 2012 but what the caterpillar calls the end of the world the master calls a

butterfly.

Our health and safety practices have continued to progress, we have made significant improvements in last five years and

we see Health and Safety as a continuous exercise. This has not only resulted in improved morale, fewer accidents, healthier,

and happier employees but it has contributed financially to the business.

In 2011, our safety practices made us the finalist of the Excellence in Workplace Safety award - Westpac Auckland Central

Business Awards. We will continue to approach H&S in a practical way across the group, with initiatives we have introduced

in New Zealand including health checks, healthy eating, safety awareness being introduced into Australia, Thailand and

India in due course.

We are committed to continually improving our H&S practices. Just wait and watch, there is more to come in 2013.

Young HR Practitioner of the Year

Umesh Thakur, our HR Consultant participated in

HRINZ Young HR Practitioner Award 2012 and

successfully attained the merit category. HRINZ is

the only Human Resources Institute in New Zealand

and the HR Awards are designed to recognise

excellence within New Zealand’s HR community.

Umesh started with Patton’s in 2008 as a HR

Coordinator, now HR Consultant takes care of HR,

Health and Safety and Payroll for both Patton NZ

and Australia. Since 2008, Umesh has successfully

implemented various HR and OSH initiatives in the

company and those particular initiatives were

recognised for his successful selection in attaining

Merit in HR Young Practitioner award category.

Merit acknowledges the contribution of the

individual in his field of work and is recognised as

having future potential.

Umesh’s academic goal is to do PHD by 2020, For the last three years; Umesh has continued to study part time and recently

completed his bachelors in HRM. He plans to continue his study part time by doing MBA in 2013. Umesh is quite passionate

about his role and continues to explore new challenges and opportunities as they come. He plans to develop a more holistic

and strategic view of HR in coming years. We may expect several interesting Health and Safety and HR initiatives including

people development practices from Umesh in 2013.

LESSONS OF LIFE

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began,

he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The

pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar

was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up

everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous ‘yes.’

The professor then produced two Beers from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling

the empty space between the sand. The students laughed..

‘Now,’ said the professor as the laughter subsided, ‘I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls

are the important things—-your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favourite passions—-and if

everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter

like your job, your house and your car. The sand is everything else—-the small stuff.

‘If you put the sand into the jar first,’ he continued, ‘there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

Spend time with your children. Spend time with your parents. Visit your grandparents. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play

another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and mow the lawn.

Take care of the golf balls first—-the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the Beer represented. The professor smiled and said, ‘I’m glad you

asked.’ The Beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of Beers.

Patton is Marching Ahead with 5S! The 5S program, as many of you are already aware has been in full swing at Patton HQ in Auckland for the past 18

months. Every department has taken part and the results speak for themselves. We have seen improved profitability,

efficiency, better service and safety across the board.

Over this time all staff members of the Patton Auckland team from all the way up to CEO have been trained in 5S

principles and the audit process which we all readily take part in every week. By maintaining this program we have gained

a lot of experience and have adjusted our day to day work habit’s to reflect in a better well organized work force.

5S is a component of Lean Manufacture which establishes a visual workplace using the Kaizen system of continual

improvement. The 5 S program focuses on having visual order, organization, cleanliness and standardization. To recap the

principles of the 5S system are as follows:

1. Sort – involves removing all unnecessary things from the work area / workplace.

2. Set – Means that the work area is well laid out and organized coherently.

3. Shine – means that everyone follows schedules for cleaning and inspection. Everything is

easy to see, reach and return

4. Standardise – Means that everyone does the same tasks in the same way.

5. Sustain – (The hardest) means that the previous 4 Ss’ are maintained, and people do not slip

back into old habits.

The 5S ‘rollout’ will continue in early 2013. Branches in NZ will be provided training and support to start their own 5S programs. For further information on 5S or any questions about this exciting next step please contact the 5S Senior Coordinator Alddon Mackay in Auckland.

Oxfam Trailwalk is an annual fundraising event organised and promoted by

Oxfam. This organisation works with poor communities and local

organisations in Africa, Asia and the Pacific to help people address the root

causes of poverty.

This year two Patton teams of four have registered to take part in the 100km

challenge in the stunning Lake Taupo region on 6 and 7 April 2013.

The two teams, with their support crew, will gather at The Great Lake Centre in Taupo.

Oxfam Trailwalker is not just a physical challenge. Both our teams have committed to

raise at least $2,000 each to support Oxfam New Zealand's work. All four members

must start and finish the walk together. The 100kms must be completed by passing

through seven checkpoints within 36 hours - this is not a relay.

Why we are doing this? We believe this is an opportunity for us to do something for

the greater good. How can you help you may ask? Well that is the easy part. Please

join us in this exciting challenge by donating a small amount and you will know that you

have given to a very needy charity and helped your fellow colleagues reach their goal.

Brian Yates: The veteran of 52 years. Branch manager

Wayne Beattie writes: “From humble beginnings in Barbados

Street to the present day site in Kingsley Street, Brian has

been here seen it all, and if he hasn’t seen it – it’s not worth

seeing. He too, has played a huge part in making Patton’s

Christchurch what it is today. Brian is Christchurch’s very own

walking catalogue – he will be missed for his unassuming

way, knowledge and expertise, and of course his loyalty to

Patton’s. On Friday 14 December

2012, when Brian leaves work for the

last time, it is truly the end of an era.

achievement of the 30th Anniversary of Sheryl Johnston. She

too has joined this prestigious 30 plus club and counting!, A

real achievement.

A person who prides herself on offering great Customer

Service all day, every day, and has played a huge part in

making Patton Christchurch the successful business it is today.

Sheryl, a big thank you for all your efforts – they are very

much appreciated.

Victor Beever celebrates 25 years continuous service in

Christchurch Manufacturing, this is also a noteworthy

achievement and we thank you for your loyalty and

dedication to making our branch a success. Wayne Beattie

has made it into double figures being at the helm of

Christchurch branch for the past ten years. His leadership

and loyalty to the staff and company during some of the

most difficult time is greatly valued.

Most companies can only dream of having such long service

from staff in modern times, yet Patton’s can boast at least 4

people with 25 years’ experience or more. Sheryl, Wayne

and Vic, thank you for your contributions over the years,

long may that continue.

Boccia Trophy - Andy Henderson

Andy's son, Mathew, was born with Cerebral Palsy, meaning that he has difficulties with fine motor skills

and a shortened attention/concentration span. Upon contacting Parafed Wellington to establish what

sports would be suitable for Mathew and his disability, Boccia was suggested.

Boccia is a Portuguese precision ball sport game, is related to bowls and pétanque. The sport is

competed at on both a national and an international level by either athletes who require a wheelchair

or have other severe disabilities affecting motor skills. In 1984 it became a Paralympic sport.

As Boccia was not an active sport at this time Andy took the initiative and organised “Have A Go Day”.

From here, under Andy's guidance, a group of regular Boccia players was formed. The group meets

twice a month in Lower Hutt and in October they travelled to Christchurch to compete in the NZ National

Boccia Championships. Andy has learnt to referee and coach Boccia and is the mainstay of the group.

For Mathew, it has meant he can participate in a sport that he loves and it has helped him with motor skills, concentration

span and strategy planning, increasing his self-confidence. Similar experiences and outcomes are relayed by other group

members who owe their success to Andy.

There were 350 nominations for the awards and 33 finalists in total. The three categories were student volunteers, volunteers

and good sorts. Andy was a finalist in the good sorts category which is for all of the volunteers who work as coaches,

managers etc., and just do it quietly without asking for any assistance.

2007 - NZ passed 1000 Patton dairy units sold into dairy since

2001. Patton India opens with Vinod Kumar Rekhi as Managing

Director. Patton Aero opens with Bernard Sagaiyaraj as GM.

2008 - NZ biggest year ever more than 400 dairy units sold.

2009 - NZ passed 2000 dairy units sold.
