What is a patient portal? Patient portal is a secure online website that gives you convenient 24-hour access to your personal health information and medical records known as an Electronic Health Record or EHR, from anywhere that has an Internet connection safely and securely. Patient portals allow you to make more informed decisions about your healthcare by giving you the ability to:

Message your physician

Request imaging and lab results

Refill Rx

View appointments

Download and print healthcare documents

Steps to access your patient portal:

Step 1 - Go to UniversitySurgical.com and click on Patient Portal in the top right corner.

Step 2 - Enter your Username and Password and click the Login button.

You are now logged into your Patient Portal account.

Step 3 - Explore! From here you can access "My Chart," "Appointment," and "Messenger."

"My Chart" allows you to access your personal health record documents.

On the left side of your screen you will see a list of the documents you can access. Scroll through the list and choose the document you wish to view.

A table with a list of those documents will appear to the right in date order. View : To view the healthcare document, click the blue link that is underlined in the description column

and your document will pop-up/appear in a new window.

Download : To download the document to your personal computer, simply check the box under "D" and click Download.

Transmit: To transmit the document to another person or physician, check the box under "T" and click Transmit. (You must know the person's e-mail address in order to do this.)

Need to reference your last appointment or did you forget an upcoming appointment?

Click the "Appointment" tab at the top of the page and a list of your appointment's will show.

Do you have a non-urgent question for your Doctor?

Click the "Messenger" tab at the top of the page. This page is set up similar to your e-mail.

Click "Compose" on the left side of the screen.

Enter your doctors name by "To", your name by "Patient", and a title by "Subject." Type your question or comment in the box below and click "Send".

A member of our clinical staff will reply to your question and you will receive a response in your patient portal "Inbox."

If you wish to view the message's you have sent your physician, click "Sent Items."
