Part 1: What are NutriClear® and NutriClear-S®?

NutriClear® and NutriClear-S® are chemically defined foodsdesigned to support the nutritional needs of a wide spectrum of patients--even those who are sensitive to certain foods or chemicals. NutriClear® and NutriClear-S® have been formu-lated with the highest quality ingredients and are compatible with vegetarian diets. These products are intended for use in associa-tion with a low allergenic diet, thus minimizing the exposure tofoods, which may cause sensitivities or allergic problems.

NutriClear® and NutriClear-S® are often used as meal replacements in cleansing or “metabolic clearing” programs.Metabolic clearing refers to the processes responsible for eliminating toxic substances that have built up in the body. Mostpeople encounter toxic agents in their work or home environment, due to pollutants in air, water or beverages, and, of course, fromfoods. Drugs and alcohol also contribute to the toxic burden, asdo potentially harmful materials generated by intestinal bacteria.Removing accumulated toxic materials enables the body to recover from imbalances, and therefore, enables it to work more efficiently. NutriClear-S® is designed for those patients in whichsoy is preferred.

Part 2: How Can NutriClear® and NutriClear-S®

Help Balance the Body’s Chemistry?Specific nutrients can help improve your nutritional status ina variety of ways:

• Help convert fat and carbohydrate to energy, whilemaintaining muscle tissue.

Some nutrients, such as amino acids, function as building blocks;others are enzyme helpers (cofactors that function as metabolic“spark plugs”); still others function as fuels to run the body’smachinery. When these are limited by inadequate diet, problemswith digestion or absorption, nutritional imbalances and reducedability to repair may occur.

Key nutrients supplied:B-vitamins – Niacin, Riboflavin, Pantothenic acidTrace elements – Zinc, Copper, Selenium and ManganeseAmino Acids - L-Glutathione, N-Acetylcysteine, and

L-GlutamineAntioxidants – Quercetin, NAC, Vitamins A & C

• Help eliminate potentially harmful substances. NutriClear® provides a full range of nutrients that support theprocessing and disposal of waste materials and other potentiallyharmful materials. The liver functions as the body’s major wastedisposal unit and specific nutrients can aid in this role.

Key nutrients supplied: Niacin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid, zinc, cysteine, glutathione

• Help protect the body against free radicals andoxidation

Pollutants such as ozone and nitrogen oxides, cigarette smoke, and other substances can lead to the formation of free radicals –“pyromaniac molecules” – that randomly attack cells and increasethe body’s need for substances called antioxidants, which act asfree radical “blockers”.

Key antioxidants supplied: Natural mixed carotenoids,vitamins C & E, N-Acetylcysteine, selenium, glutathione

• Help improve intestinal healthThe intestinal lining is the primary barrier against foreign materials. When the intestine is compromised, digestion andnutrient absorption decrease, and the intestine may become“leaky,” allowing unwanted substances to enter the bloodstream.

Keys nutrients supplied: Trace minerals, B-complex vitamins,L-glutamine (amino acid) and quercetin (bioflavonoid)

Part 3: Suggestions for Using NutriClear® andNutriClear-S®

Q. What Kinds of dietary restrictions should I follow?

A. Each individual’s situation is unique. The details of a cleansing program, including a diet best suited for your needs, should be worked out with your Healthcare Provider. Your dietshould contain minimal allergens. This guide provides a variety offood choices you may wish to consider for a low-allergen diet.

It should be emphasized that neither NutriClear® norNutriClear-S® is a weight loss meal replacement. Counting calories (and serving sizes) may not be required for cleansing programs.

Q. How often should I take NutriClear® or NutriClear-S®?

A. The duration of usage and the amount to be consumed dependupon your individual needs, which in turn reflects the severity ofyour problems, and the level of antioxidant defenses required.

Generally, your Healthcare Practitioner will recommend that youbegin with a 10-day detoxification program, incorporating theNutriClear® or NutriClear-S® as a meal replacement (breakfast),and as a snack between meals.

Q. How should I mix NutriClear® or NutriClear-S®?

A. Use 2 scoops of NutriClear® per 8 oz. of water or dilutedjuice*, or as directed in your personalized plan. Pear, apple, andpineapple juices are the best options. Citrus is not recommendedbecause allergies to this group are common. Use organic producefor vegetable juices. NutriClear® products can also be mixedwith applesauce. Non-wheat fiber may be added as directed by your Healthcare Provider. In order to preserve the glutamine content, mix only the amount of NutriClear® orNutriClear-S® needed for a single serving. Do not store foods ordrinks which contain NutriClear® or NutriClear-S®.* 1 scoop of Whey or Rice Protein may be added to theNutriClear® mix.

Q. When should I begin to feel better?

A. Your medical history, including the use of medications, andexposure to toxic materials in the workplace, as well as your agecan affect the rate of improvement. A slower response time may be expected for older patients. Most people begin to feel better within 1 to 2 weeks of using a cleansing program; others may take a longer time to see an improvement in their symptoms.

Q. What side effects can I expect?

A. Individual response to cleansing programs is highly variabledue to personal differences in biochemical makeup, stress levels, toxin buildup and medical histories. Individuals sometimes experience headaches, joint pain, mood swings, constipation, fatigue or other side effects. These side effects are commonlyassociated with cleansing programs and usually dissipate within aweek to 10 days. Notify your Healthcare Provider if you developany adverse symptoms or encounter discomfort in using this product with your individualized program.

Part 4: General Dietary Guidelines

1. Avoid consuming foods that you do not tolerate, or that cause reactions, while you are using the NutriClear® product aspart of a metabolic cleansing program.

2. The following are common food allergens and should be avoided:• Gluten-containing grains. Wheat (including spelt, triticale

and kamut), barley, rye, oats• Corn and corn products• Milk and milk products. Milk proteins are common allergens

and many people have difficulty digesting large amounts of milk sugar.

3. Reduce or eliminate your consumption of the following:• Caffeine-containing foods. Caffeine stimulates the adrenal

glands, which may already be overworked.• Alcohol. Alcohol is cleared mainly by the liver and its

presence in the system increases gut permeability. Alcoholconsumption places a drain on the liver at a time when the liver is processing other potentially dangerous materials.

• High-sugar & sugar substitute foods. They provide littlefiber and virtually no nutrients.

• High-fat foods. Reducing fatty foods is a generaldietary recommendation, as a high fat diet is associated withcertain health risks.

4. Be sure to eat at least 3-5 servings of fresh vegetables and 2-3 servings of fruit daily following the metabolic cleansing. Your vegetable selections should include sources of carotenoids - darkleafy vegetables or orange vegetables.

5. Animal protein. Lamb, turkey or chicken, and deep sea fish are often better tolerated than pork or beef. Canned fish may contain extra salt or oil. Choose low-fat meat options and broil, bake, steam or grill entrees rather than frying them.

6. Water. Drink plenty of pure water. The recommended amountis 2 quarts daily. Water is essential for the kidneys to clear toxinsand wastes from the blood. The safest may be distilled water, boiled water or water that has been filtered through a 1 micron filter to exclude parasites (Cryptosporidium).

7. Juices. Follow the recommendation of your HealthcareProvider regarding fruit juices. Even fresh juices contain high levels of fruit sugar (fructose). Canned fruit or juices containingadded table sugar (sucrose) are not recommended.

8. Nutritional supplements. Lactic acid, Probiotic, or other supplements and fiber like flax seed, as recommended by your Healthcare Provider, can be used in conjunction withNutriClear®. Extra dietary fiber (except for wheat bran) can help with constipation or diarrhea.

9. Your Healthcare Provider may instruct you to follow an elimination diet to uncover hidden food sensitivities.

10. Adequate rest and stress reduction are keys to the healingprocess. Exercise in moderation during a cleansing program.

IMPORTANT NOTES:• NutriClear® and NutriClear-S® are not intended for

weight loss.• NutriClear® and NutriClear-S® are not appropriate for

children, or for pregnant or lactating women.• People who have problems with blood sugar regulation

should consult their Healthcare Providers before usingNutriClear® and NutriClear-S®.
