(Readings begin on p. 53)

Responsorial Psalm: Ps. 80 Refrain: “Blessed are they, blessed are they who dwell in your house, O Lord.”

1. Once in royal David's city Stood a lowly cattle shed, Where a mother laid her baby In a manger for his bed. Mary was that mother mild, Jesus Christ her little Child. 2. He came down to earth from heaven Who is God and Lord of all, And his shelter was a stable, And his cradle was a stall. With the poor and mean and lowly Lived on earth our Savior holy. 3. And through all his wondrous childhood He would honor and obey, Love and watch the lowly maiden In whose gentle arms he lay. Christian children all should be Kind, obedient, good as he. 4. For he is our childhood's pattern, Day by day like us he grew; He was little, weak, and helpless, Tears and smiles like us he knew: And he feels for all our sadness, And he shares in all our gladness. 5. And our eyes at last shall see him, Through his own redeeming love; For that child so dear and gentle Is our Lord in heav'n above: And he leads his children on To the place where he has gone. The Doxology At the conclusion, all reply: Amen.

The Profession of the Faith The Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, [All bow, at the following text ]

and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

The Communion Rite The Lord’s Prayer

The Sign of Peace At the fraction, the Lamb of God begins.

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.

Holy Communion

V. Behold the Lamb of God R/. Lord, I am not worthy, that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word, and my soul shall be healed.

Hail, Holy Queen

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears! Turn, then, O most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

V: Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. R/: That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spir-its, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Eucharistic Adoration: On Wednesdays at 1pm, the church is open for the Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, concluding with Benediction at 3pm. At this time, people come together to pray and be with our Lord Jesus Christ. Consider bringing someone with you...or bring their concerns, fears and struggles and speak with our Lord about them. Scripture is filled with moments when people brought the sick and those burdened directly to Jesus.

FAMILY LIFE-Family life is sacred, but it is not without trial. Perhaps this is the most important message we can glean from today’s readings. If Jesus, Mary, and Joseph can trip up sometimes—can disconnect—then we shouldn’t find it surprising when such things happen to us as well. And parents everywhere (children, too) can probably relate to—and take some solace in—the Gospel’s account of Mary and Joseph after Jesus ex-plained why he stayed behind in the temple. They heard his words, Luke tells us, “But they did not understand what he said to them” (Luke 2:50). Amen! Nevertheless, Jesus does go back home with them, and continues to thrive under their care. THE NAME FOR GOD Mother is the name for God on the lips and in the hearts of little children. —William Makepeace Thackeray

Feast of the Holy Family “See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.” (1 JOHN 3:1) During this season of giving, let us remember the most important gift we have received – being chil-dren of God. As God’s children, it’s important that we express our love for others as well. Tell your spouse, children and other family members and friends that you love them, frequently.

Wprowadzenie do liturgii słowa Autor Księgi Syracydesa zachęca dzisiaj do czci i posłuszeństwa wobec rodziców, zwracając uwagę na dobrodziejstwa płynące z takiego postępowania. Ewangelia ukazuje Świętą Rodzinę Nazaretańską ofiarującą Bogu Jego Syna. Święty Paweł w Liście do Kolosan poucza o zasadach chrześcijańskiego życia domowego. Niech naszymi sercami rządzi Boży pokój. Wsłuchajmy się w słowo Chrystusa, które przebywa w nas z całym swym bogactwem.

Wszelkich B³ogos³awieñstw na Nowy 2016 Rok

Dla Wszystkich Naszych Parafian i ich Rodzin sk³adajà

do s³uýby innym.

One of the programs that is new to St. Thecla School is the S.O.A.R. Program. S.O.A.R. stands for Safe, Obedient, Accepting, and Responsible. It is program that encourages students to treat classmates, teachers and the school with respect and acceptance in a safe and responsible manner. Students are pushed to accept the differences and similarities of others while embracing their own uniqueness. The students and teachers assemble on a monthly basis to honor the positive behavior that is being displayed. Part of the S.O.A.R. monthly gathering was a presentation given by SOUTHPAW, White Sox Mascot, about Standing Tall and embracing your individuality. SOUTHPAW and his narrator told a story about treating each other with respect and believing in yourself. The students learned more about behaving positively and standing tall. The faculty and students had a great time participating and having fun with SOUTHPAW.

St. Thecla high school students achievements: Trinity High School announced that Erin Nelson of St. Thecla and 29 other students were named as Illinois State Scholars. Congratulations Erin!
