Image 1This image displays Barry Sanders going head to head with Brian Urlacher. Barry Sanders was probably the best running back of his time while Brian Urlacher is still one of the best linebackers in the NFL today.

Page 3: Past vs. Present

For this image I used the lasso tool to separate the image of Barry Sanders from his background. Then I used the magic eraser tool and the magic wand tool to get rid of the excess background from his body. Finally I used the move tool to move the body of Barry Sanders to the image of Brian Urlacher.

For this image I used Charley Hannigan of the 1961 Houston Oilers to go up against Nate Clements of the San Francisco 49ers. Charley Hannigan has been named one of the best receivers of all time. That is why I lined him up with Nate Clements because he has been named one of the best cornerbacks of today.

Page 5: Past vs. Present

For image two I used Charley Hannigan of the 1961 Houston Oilers to face up against Nate Clements of the San Francisco 49ers. I used the lasso tool to cut around Nate's body and place it on a blank document. Then I used the magic eraser and the background eraser tool to get rid of the rest of the background. For Charley's picture I used the clone stamp tool to erase the other person that was on the field with him and to make it look natural. Finally I used the move tool to place Nate on the same field as Charley as if they were going up against one another.

Image 3In this image I placed the feared 1985 Chicago Bears defense on the line up against one of today’s best offenses, the Indianapolis Colts, in a backyard battle.

Page 7: Past vs. Present

For this image I found a picture of the feared 1985 Chicago Bears defense and placed them on a backyard football field. To do that I used the lasso tool and eraser tool to get rid of the excess background image. Then I took one of today's best offensive teams, the Colts, and also placed them on the same field, using the same tools.

In this image Marion Motley tries to escape a tackle by Indianapolis Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney as his teammate Anthony Gonzalez looks on.

Page 9: Past vs. Present

First I found a picture of a football stadium from the present day. Then I found a picture of a football player from the past and adjusted the picture by cropping and using the clone stamp , lasso, and free transform. Then I found a picture of a football player from present day that made it look like it was tackling the other player. I did the same with this present day player to make it fit into to the picture. Then I found another present day player that is on the same team as the tackler and cropped and free transformed him into the scene. http://www.ever-greenlawncare.com/images/TippCityFootballField006Sep-08-1000.jpghttp://assets.sbnation.com/assets/4626/Marion_Motley.jpghttp://images.dailyradar.com/media/uploads/ballhype/story_large/2009/09/04/san_diego_chargers_v_indianapolis_colts.jpghttp://i.cdn.turner.com/si/2010/writers/peter_king/01/31/mmqb/dwight-freeney-.jpg

Page 11: Past vs. Present

I found a picture of Vince Lombardi, the former Green Bay Packers coach talking to one of his players and then I cropped out the player using the magnetic lasso tool. I found a picture of a current Green Bay player, Aaron Rodgers and put him in the place of the previous player with Vince using the magnetic lasso tool also. I had to play around with the image sizes to make sure the two people were the same size. I also used the clone stamp tool a lot to fill in the background and the spots I missed after I cropped. http://cache1.asset-cache.net/xc/84032688.jpg?v=1&c=IWSAsset&k=2&d=77BFBA49EF8789215ABF3343C02EA54827429A0B1B45ACBEC93D4D572DD7D5B4E04DF7FA09EA82E8E30A760B0D811297http://www.examiner.com/images/blog/wysiwyg/image/bobby_mitchell_vince_lombardi.jpg

In this picture Ben Roethlisberger of the Steelers gets taken down hard by Eagle Chuck Bednarik. Roethlisberger’s teammate Anthony Smith rushes over to see if he’s okay.

Page 13: Past vs. Present

For Image 3 I found a background with a referee and 3 football players from back in the day. Then I found a picture of a Steelers player laying on the ground and put him under the one Eagles player to make it look like he knocked him down. To do this I used magnetic lasso, clone stamp, Free Transform and sharpen tool. I zoomed in to make sure the image looked as real as I could and cleaned up all the spots that were showing from the original image. Next, I found a picture of another Steelers player and put him into the picture to make it look like he is trying to help his fallen teammate. To do this I had to crop out the Eagles player that was previously there so I could put the Steelers player in his place. I used magnetic lasso, clone stamp, Layer via copy, sharpen tool, and Free Transform.

This image depicts both past and present colt glory by showing famed head coach Tony Dungy on the field with his players while historic former colts quarterback Johnny Unitas looks on.

Picture 7

Page 15: Past vs. Present

To begin I found two picture I thought would go together well when combined into one image. To do this I used the box tool to outline Unitas’ image (image of the single player, Johnny Unitas) and erase everything extra around him. Then using the magic lasso I carefully drew around Unitas and was able to move him. To fine tune the image I zoomed in with the magnifying tool and lowered my eraser to a very small but hard circle. I then carefully erased any sharp or irrelevant pieces of image left by the lasso tool. Now once I had isolated the Unitas image to just the person and had erased the background I import that image into the other picture. Using the resize tool I resized the Unitas image so it fit in the background, to create the illusion of perspective. Then I blurred the edges around Unitas to make him fit better into the picture. Then since the other image (the image of Coach Dungy and a player talking on a field) was taken with a camera which left the background blurry, I further blurred the Unitas image to make him more congruent with the rest of the photo. The finished result left me with a heroic picture of former quarterback Johnny Unitas looking on as the current Colts discuss modern football.

Picture 8

This image depicts past Giants star Lawrence Taylor playing among modern New York Giants football players.

Page 17: Past vs. Present

To begin I selected two pictures, one of Giants great Lawrence Taylor, and one of the current day Giants. Then using the lasso tool I cut Lawrence Taylor out of the pictured and cleaned up the edges with the eraser. After doing this, I resized Taylor so he appeared to be on the same size scale as the other giants players. I then cleaned up the edges with the blur tool so Taylor seemed more natural in the photo. Finally to make it appear as if the Giant’s player’s leg was in front of Taylor I erased the part of Taylor’s leg that overlapped. http://blog.nj.com/giants_impact/2008/09/GIANTS05%2015%20MILLS.JPG

John Mason3/25/10To start I found two pictures I thought would go together well when combined into one image. To do this I used the box tool to outline Lawrence Taylor's image (image of the single player leaping through the air, Lawrence Taylor) and erased everything extra around him. Then using the magic lasso I carefully drew around Unitas and was able to move him. To fine tune the image I zoomed in with the magnifying tool and lowered my eraser to a very small but hard circle. I then carefully erased any sharp or irrelevant pieces of image left by the lasso tool. Now once I had isolated the Taylor image to just the person and had erased the background I imported that image into the other picture. Using the resize tool I resized the Taylor image so it fit in proportion with the players in the other photo. Then I blurred the edges around Taylor to make him fit better into the picture. Then in order to make Taylor look like he was behind the player lying down, I erased part of his leg so it appeared as if the player on the grounds foot was in front of him. The finished result left me with a picture of Hall of Fame lineman Lawrence Taylor playing alongside current Giant team members.

Picture 10

This image shows the two great legends of Green Bay Packer Football history: Brett Favre and Bart Starr

Page 21: Past vs. Present

To begin, I first selected a great picture that depicts Brett Favre and his teammates walking out on to Lambeau Field before a big game. Then I found a picture of the legendary Bart Starr. Using the lasso tool I removed from the picture. The I pasted him into the modern day picture. I then resized Starr so he was proportional to the rest of the picture.

Picture 11

This image shows current NFL great cornerback, Antonio Cromartie, intercepting a pass from the great Super Bowl X MVP Lynn Swann

Page 23: Past vs. Present

In this picture I began by selecting a picture of Antonio Cromarte and Lynn Swan. Then using the polygonal lasso tool I cut out Swans figure. I continued with this process with the eraser so as to clean up any messiness along the edges. Since perspective is important in this picture I then resized Swan so he appeared the same distance away from the viewer as Cromarte.

Picture 12

This image shows current Dallas Cowboy’s running back Marion Barber hurdling over the fierce 1950 Green Bay Packers defense

Page 25: Past vs. Present

In this picture I began by selecting a picture of Marion Barber and the 1950 Packer defense. Then using the polygonal lasso tool I cut out Barbers figure. Then by transforming the image I was able to rotate Barber so he seemed like he was diving onto the pile. Then to make it appear as though the Packers players were in front of Barber I erased part of Barber’s leg.
